Most cones given by vets are flimsy and my dog has been able to get out of them with ease. These, having velcro are super easy to get to the right fit without being too loose or tight on the neck.We tried an inflatable donut device first but that did not prevent our dog from digging at her wound where as this did perfectly. It has nice soft edges so it does not dig into the dogs neck.Very sturdy and easy to put on and take off. Highly recommend for wound care/hot spots.

It's surprisingly sturdy for such a thin piece of plastic. Believe me, 88lbs dog has been ramming it into every thing he can to get it off.The velcro is quick and easy but gets filthy pretty quickly and is hard to clean. My dog is a drool factory so that cone needs rinsed off, cleaned out, and wiped down constantly. It's her first time wearing a cone and she let me put it on right away but won't move. Lol she doesn't know what to do with it on. But we got it because she scratched her face wrinkles and ear really hard and we want them to heal since shes pregnant we want her to also be comfortable while shes healing. The ones from the vet didn’t last long at all. (My two active 35-40 lb brittanys were neutered.) These replacement cones were much, much better.Pros: The velcro is excellent. They stayed on even with the dogs bashing into corners, etc. The material was flexible but firm, not brittle like the harder plastic vet cones. I don’t like this cone, but it wasn’t my first pick either and I needed one ASAP for my pup. It had the soonest arrival time, but the sizing is off. I have a black lab who is VERY high energy and always on the go. We waited till he was a little older than a year to get him fixed (suggested by our vet) which made healing a little more difficult since he is so busy all the time.
