This is exactly what I wanted and exactly what I expected. These are high speed fans to move a lot of air. Yes you can hear them but they are not that loud. it's a bit like the sound of car tires on a hot or wet road. Basically you just set it up. I use high quality graphics and this solved the cooling issue I was having. I bought two of these to replace the broken ones in my server rack. As others have noted, they're fairly loud, especially if you're used to PC fans, but not louder than anything else in the rack, so that's not an issue in this application. The screw holes are a bit small, but after inserting the screws that were already there, I tapped in a little the first time and they work perfectly now.
