Air King 9166F Whole Window Review

If this fan was balanced, it would be a great fan. Unfortunately, it's not balanced and gets louder every week. It's outside the return window, so I'm left with a $155 fan that I can only use at the lowest speed or it'll break out of my window frame. It would be great if Airking's quality control system was conscientious. When you buy this fan, be sure to return it within 30 days if it makes a lot of noise, or you will regret it.

I was hesitant to buy this product. I actually looked at a whole house fan on my ceiling. My house is less than 1100 square feet and I installed this fan in the back room. So I set it to exhaust and high, opened the windows in the living room and kitchen, and yes, you can feel the wind blowing through the windows. It really lets outside air in. Initial thoughts were impressive, looks good and is easy to fit. I made a mounting frame that I can install into the window frame without damaging the window frame. I brought it in and turned it on. DO NOT buy this fan. Bought April 22; The plastic motor mount failed on June 5 after less than 10 days of use. This was of course a week and a half after the 30 day return period. Chip. This is a high performance fan. I've been using the fan almost continuously for over 6 months, varying the speed from low to high and using it as a suction and exhaust fan.
