Sometimes I keep two active dogs (25lbs and 12lbs) in this cage and still have room. My previous padded folding box was torn and bent. Torn by dogs trying to scratch and bent when my nephew sat on it. My clever dogs sometimes scratch the zipper to open it too. So far, this meets all of the above requirements. It also makes a very stable and well-made impression. Builds skillfully. It takes effort to fold/unfold. All is well.

The cage is perfect for our two cats. We bought it for an upcoming site move but took it to the vet with it. and it works great. We bought the large size and it is just right for two adult cats. It was very easy to open the box. Simply open the top panel, then unfold the crossbars to ensure they snap onto the rails. (They are held together with a rubber band. Just cut them open.) Update: I still recommend this crate for all the reasons listed below (and as mentioned, still beware of crouching), but our pup eventually tried to get out, pawed and leaned zip on the crate and break it to get out.
