I bought this processor for my wife 2 weeks before the release of Ryzen 3000 series processors. I paid $180. The overall speed and quality is absolutely amazing, although I did have issues with some things running unusually slowly. This is my first AM4 processor and it performs great on Windows 10 apps. I can run multiple browser tabs (Firefox) and still play most games, even triple AA games without much success. Excellent value for money. Gaming has the same performance as the 2700x but $100 less. Higher quality streams are easier to set up than with any current generation Intel i5 (currently Coffee Lake).
