1.You can use it to make biscuits, cookies, chocolate, bread, pie, cake, pizza, beef wellington, etc. 2. Simply roll this lattice dough cutter over chilled dough, roll the dough onto a rolling pin, then unroll the dough over the pie. 3.Create perfect lattice tops for pies and tarts in seconds with a simple roll action. 4.Size: 20.5 x 13.3 x 5cm/ 8.07" x 5.23" x 1.9"; Net Weight: 0.8lb. 5. Tips: the best way to use it was to thoroughly grease the blades(Cooking oil), and only use on well chilled dough. start rolling about an inch down from the top edge of the dough (to give yourself something to hold onto without the dough coiling around the tool), pressing down hard and rolling towards yourself. Then you can repeat the pattern on the next row until you have a large web. Carefully pull at it to open up the slits then chill the whole web.

No storage sheath

This is as advertised but I am disappointed that there is no blade sheath. It would be very useful to have a "sleeve" or "cradle" for storage, both to protect the blades and to protect your fingers when taking them out of the drawer.

Cons
  • Some difficulty

There are no instructions, here's what I found out.

The dough must be rolled out at least 1/4 inch thick for the cutter to work properly and must be removed from the board after you have rolled it into a 2/3 strip the size of a pie and bake lay the new layer of flour so that it does not stick to the board, then dust the surface with flour, then with a cutter, then spread the dough so that the pattern is visible and roll out onto the rolling pin and transfer to the cake.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Expensive

It takes some practice to get it right!

Dough should be well chilled - partially frozen. Pass the knife over the dough only once! As you roll out the dough, you need to press hard so it cuts through. Place the dough on a thick towel or canvas mat. Be sure to dip the cutting head in flour. After cutting and before attempting to open the rack, refrigerate the dough. Works well once you get the feel for it and was a very attractive upper for my wellies.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Sad wrappers

Great product overall in Pasta & Pizza Tools

Overall I am very happy with this product. Very durable and well built. The handle is robust and fits well in the hand. The cutting blades are made of high-quality metal and are firmly mounted. Don't swing from side to side. Now for the cons: 1. Comes with no instructions. Although I know it seems pretty obvious, a guide would help avoid a lot of attempt, error and waste.2. There is no cover for the cutting head. While it's not sharp like a knife, it's sharp enough to cut your finger if you…

Leave a 1 " border when rolling out

This tool works! But he had a steep learning curve. We have found that it is best to oil the blades thoroughly and only use it on well chilled dough. It's also VERY IMPORTANT to roll down about 1 inch from the top of the dough (to give yourself something to hold onto and prevent the dough from curling around the tool), press firmly and roll towards you. Then you can repeat the pattern on the next row until you get a large canvas. Gently pull to open the slits, then refrigerate the entire web…
