Quality control issue - Seems to be a decent flashlight for the money

I am using the second unit. The first one looked like it was a return (not a new one) which at least got me confused by someone. But my successor had the same problem. So I took good screws from both blocks. My second fan unit was 8dB louder (using a random iOS app) than the first. Which is MUCH louder. If I got the 2nd block first I would just return it and give this fixture 2 stars. Also NO REMOTE CONTROL. In retrospect, I should have been more careful. Looks like the SALT version has a…

Great value/support. Remote Channel Fix

Excellent quality and great customer service. However, remote is not very user friendly. So, like some people, I thought at first that some of the light channels were out of order. I was about to return it and decided to send them a quick email to see if there was a quick fix. They replied within a day or two. :). If the channel light doesn't seem to adjust or does nothing. Press "Full Power" then press "Channel 1" and then press the "-" button about 11 times. And "channel 2" and the "-" button

Excellent light with good color rendering index

On the left are photos of the tank of the previous lamp, on the right the Asta Planted model. The color rendering index is significantly higher on the Asta - that would be a good light source if you enjoy photographing your aquarium. The plant version comes with two lenses and a dimmer. Using a 60 degree lens focuses the light at a narrower point and makes it a little stronger. I liked the standard 180 lens better, but a 60 lens would be good for a tall tank or decorative lighting. You have a chance if you DO NOT buy this light.

I don't usually write many reviews here, but this time I want to let all other buyers know. "Price, but it actually serves better than Kessil. I'm not talking about how "bright" this item is, although it is very bright for the recommended size of your aquarium. but it works BETTER than Kessil. You can dim this light to many levels, which Kessil cannot. You need to buy a separate controller for Kessil, it is not available. Kessil has the best shimmer effect, this one has it too. Not to the same…

Great light with good performance

★★★★★ by AtypeCollegeStudent February 8, 2018 Great light with great performance! I ordered a planted version of the Asta 20 for my new 10 gallon aquarium. I figured I could even get it to work with a rimless tank (the specs have been updated to say it only works with a rimless tank). Well, that's bad luck unless you cut off part of the rim. I was planning to install it on a very small shelf behind the tank when I realized it would fit perfectly on my bookshelf. it's more like a headlight. I…

REMOTE MANUAL + 2 year update

I figured it out. It seems that CH1-CH3 do nothing; a common complaint I've read in reviews. For example, I expected that pressing CH3 would change the color to the preset program. nope It selects colored diodes. I use a marine model. White, blue, red and green colors are on separate channels. Here's an easy way to set your preferred hue: This requires you to look at the LEDs, so wear dark polarized sunglasses and shine the light directly at your face or a non-reflective mirror. Surface or use…
