Description of AQUATEK Premium Brass Check Aquariums

Perfect for aquarium and fish tanks. Prevents back-siphoning to protect CO2 system from water damage and flooding during power outage. NOTE: Designed for CO2 system only, not for air pump, requires 25 psi minimum working pressure. Brass is a highly corrosion resistant material in high humidity environment and has lasting durability and less leakage. Air tube tightening nut ensures secure air tube connection and continuous air-flow. Arrow marking showing the direction of flow - away from your regulator. Perfect for pressurized CO2 system and planted aquarium tanks.

The only CO2 check valve I use

Aquatek makes great equipment and this check valve is no exception. I have used cheap plastic check valves on my CO2 system but they end up leaking! Not this one!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Expensive

Does not work for fish and aquatic animals

Does not work. Restricts air on both sides. My arrow was in the right direction. Still restricts airflow. Went and bought some cheap plastic ones that really work. Maybe I just misunderstood?

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some problems

A must for every aquarium.

Peace of mind. I threw a new air hose in my tank the other day and didn't notice. He built his own siphon and ended up on my floor with about a cup of water. No harm, but god it reminded me how important these things are.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

What do I need good for air pump accessories

This is a brass CO2 check valve. I encourage you to find one as affordable and good value as this one. I think I haven't noticed any reflux for about 6 months. Since it's new. So I bought another CO2 kit and this check valve again. So you could say I built a little bit of trust in him.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Available in white only

Works at pressures of 20psi and above.

I just installed this check valve in my aquarium's CO2 system after my previous check valve failed (in the Red Sea 13 years ago). This check valve would not allow gas to flow below 20psi even after waiting for the line to be pressurized. If you're happy with 20psi, then looks like a good check valve (I've had it up and running for about noon now, so no guarantee of durability yet). I definitely like the brass construction and secure hardware. Let's hope this lasts.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Works perfectly! I like reliable nut tightening!

Works great! Seems to prevent reflux. Checked backwards just to be sure ;]. Tension nuts work great. They hold the phone very securely. I have used this with a CO2 protected AQUATEK snorkel and have not had any leaks or issues. If you have a similar tube, I would recommend boiling a mug of water in the microwave and then holding the end (about the last inch) of the tube in the water for about 30 seconds. The hose becomes very flexible and can be tightened very easily. Depending on the handset…

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Be careful! - Fish and aquatic animals

As already mentioned, this article is defective. The valve tester is closed on BOTH sides. This is very bad! If you try to install this and end up checking it on both sides you will create tremendous pressure in the line as the CO2 will not flow through the valve. The release of that pressure scared the shit out of me pulling the hose out of the valve. Proceed with caution. Send this back along with your faulty CO2 on Monday. I wanted everything to work flawlessly in my first planted aquarium…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Large and chunky

From the start it was very difficult for the air to flow through the valve and one day (after a month and a half) it was completely clogged preventing all the air from flowing through. Even after spending extra money looking for a premium product, I found that it wasn't worth the premium price. I bought a very expensive ($150+) regulator from aquatek that worked great when used without a check valve (thankfully the water wasn't circulating back then) but when I bought it to add it completely…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Reliability
