EXCELLENT QUALITY Connections

Had to return the 6ft model I ordered to get 8ft. It's 1000% better than Blue Ox or Roadmaster, the best quality I've ever seen. The winding is tough, so order a little more than you usually need. Excellent quality, very impressed.

The cable is too heavy for a pickup.

Very difficult. Was a "recommended" item for Pro-Plug. The connections are too shaky to support the weight of this very strong cable. When using this I need to avoid ripping the cable at both ends.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Garbage. Do not buy. for connectors

The thing is very rigid and does not come loose. Worst of all, it doesn't fit properly in the truck's outlet and I had to keep stopping and fumbling with the plug to get it to work. I've already swapped it out. A complete garbage.

Cons
  • A few little things

Doesn't stretch, so too short

Although the length listed is twice what I need, it's still too short. Coils are tight and plastic doesn't bend well. It's 6 feet long when fully extended, but the force for it is high, so it detaches while driving (even without turning). I used it once and now I need to replace it. Mountain passes are not the place to lose trailer brakes because a connector has come loose from the vehicle.

Wire code/color code is industry standard

This connector is well designed with a molded plug. This was important to me because I wanted to avoid the ends of the wires coming out of the screw terminals (many connectors don't provide enough internal space for the ends of the spade terminals). Someone may object that the coil is rigid. I would suggest that careful measurements are important. If 6ft is too tight, it likely means a longer cable is needed. As for the concept of "non-standard" color marking of wires; This connector is wiredโ€ฆ

Great cable with custom wire colors

I love having this coil connector on my trailer. The trailer is towed by several different vehicles whose connections are at different distances from the trailer hitch. It's really nice to be able to reach the plug wherever it is without worrying about the cord pulling or wrapping it around something when I don't need that much length. Hooking it up was easy, although the wire colors don't match. the standard you see in most places, so you'll need to use a multimeter to check which wire goes to
