I've encountered various issues with the dock, replaced Amazon twice (meaning I'm on a third device now). I contacted Belkin support (very professional) and they confirmed a known issue with this type of dock and the newer MacBook Pro in combination with sleep mode. Belkin Support has stated that there is no way to update/update the firmware for the device. Updated 1/10/22: (downgraded to 1 star) If you use this with a Mac and a wired gigabit ethernet connection, you won't get gigabit speeds. I see more than 250 Mbit/s. Before the purchase, I typically used a Macbook Pro 15" (2017) connected to a LG 38UC99 monitor, which powers the Macbook and controls the display. Great docking station for the M1 MBA, except that the external monitor/TV flickers through this dock. I tried 3 TVs/monitors with 3 different cables and 2 different DP/HDMI adapters - none worked without flickering when connected via Displayport. I really liked this docking station, my biggest problem is the cable that came with it. The cable is so bad that if I press it lightly or tap it with something lightly, it can break the connection. If you buy this I would recommend getting a new cable right away!

I was wondering which dock to get - Caldigit or Belkin, my Facebook has Caldigit and I bought it. Each of us has two 4K monitors. It turns out things are very similar and I find that the Belkin dock looks better because it has a smooth finish, but the Caldigit wins in terms of heat dissipation. If you have two large monitors it can get very hot, that's what I was worried about. And I think Caldigita's standing position will make it easier for you to connect and disconnect anything but that.
