It worked with Firewire cables

I wanted to transfer some videos from an old mini-DV to a digital format. With the new Macbook Pro, I needed adapters for my adapters for the adapters that other adapters needed to adapt to adapters. Connecting an old laptop to an old scanner

I have to scan a lot of documents and the USB 2.0 interface between the scanner and the laptop cannot handle it. However, the Toshiba i7 I use has a 4-pin IEEE 1394 ("FireWire") connector, as does the scanner.
