I received the product and my brother in law installed it for me. Works great, saw works like new. The only negative thing I have to say is that it is a Black and Decker switch. NO WAY. The switch is Dewalt which I ordered. So all well and good. Thank you. Oh they sent extra parts to match the new design to the 20 year old saw.

This is exactly what I needed. I've just started a massive rebuild project and the original switch on my 20 year old Dewalt DW705 has failed. MY GOD! I bought this kit based on the recommendation of numerous reviews and then watched the installation video. It took about 15 minutes to rip out the old one and install the new one. Works great! I'm seriously considering buying another one and keeping it for future use once this one has bitten the dust. I hope it won't.

Works. The details fit well. Maybe not as strong as the original pen, but close. However, no 5-minute installation. Don't plan to do this at a construction site. Save the old screws for the handles. Handle and switch are different from original. However, the "package" is 100% compatible with previous versions. Please note: it was only after examining the switch itself closely that I noticed a change in the position of the wires. In the original configuration, the power and blade brake connections were made on opposite ends of the switch. Worked great on my 22 year old Dewalt miter saw. This is a redesigned version of the original handle and switch assembly, but it fits the saw perfectly and works great. The process of turning an old button/switch into a new one is not for the faint of heart. The rewiring and some other installation details are tricky, but anyone with a basic knowledge of tools and electricity should be able to handle it. I would give a five star rating if it came with all the screws holding it together but it doesn't. The plastic knob, switch and included screws were top notch. If you count the handle, then there are more holes than screws. The screws, which were only included for mounting the handle and fastening the switch, with large threads almost like wood. Replacing a 20 year old knob and switch was easy. The button and switch are slightly smaller than the original, but the fit of the button connections is the same. Hopefully it will hold up as well as the original pen. I don't know why some people had problems with electrical connections.
