I was a little skeptical knowing embroidery machines can be very picky about the thread used. I'm happy to say I would make quite a few coils out of these cones and have had no problems with them!

**update** My Janome hates this bobbin thread. :0( thought only my machine hated this thread but I gave the thread to a friend who has a Brother machine. Her machine hated it too. This bobbin thread is cheap and keeps breaking. Don't buy that thread!

Extremely thin thread, seems a bit thinner than it should be. The black arrived intact with an easy-to-release finish. The white had no visible end and I had to make my own free end with a seam ripper, which caused problems in the end. I've had some tension issues that don't normally occur with my car.

As I have mentioned in some of my other reviews I love Embroidex products and these coil cones are no exception. I had no trouble winding, using, or securing these threads. No breakage problems so far. The cones are huge as mentioned, I keep my filament in an Ikea Alex block so I can just put them on their side with no problems. Will order again when the time comes!

At first I hated this bobbin thread because it unravels and tangles so easily, but I've learned to control the unraveling of the thread with a thread net. Also, I had a lot of tension issues and thought the bobbin thread was the culprit, but it was actually the machine. Once I switch to another machine and it has auto tension it seems to work much better and I haven't had any issues since. Really good value for money because you get so much yarn on a huge spool like this.

My embroidery machine doesn't seem to like pre-wound bobbins. While they can be a lot simpler, I've found that I have to pull back about 10-20 yards of thread for them to work properly. It's just ridiculous and wasteful. So winding my own coils was the answer. This thread is the best I've found for the price. I knew I was taking a risk when making this purchase. Because of Revain's amazing return policy, I figured I had nothing to lose here. Spring. I had to insert a vertical sewing machine spool pin and a felt pad. Also to prevent the spool from rolling over the top of the machine.
