Still working for 5 years

I bought a device about 5 years ago and it's still working. When I realized I didn't have a backup, I bought a duplicate unit so I would have a spare in case mine broke, but I still don't have it. In combination with a thermostat it works great. I set the dimming to use enough energy to heat up to the right level. I don't think it has ever burned me using this method. Makes a great heat source for outdoor pets

I have a box turtle but I use it in my shed to warm and roast one of my cats. I took a large unused bird cage and laid it on its side so the open bottom looked like a large door, stuck one of those light bulbs into the metal shade you use for chickens and just set the shade on top of the cage. The first package arrived with broken bulbs. This is not the fault of the manufacturer or seller. However, when the replacement came, I have to say I wasn't happy with the heat. Extreme fire hazard

I ordered this to replace my old ceramic heater bulb that recently burned out in my leopard gecko enclosure. When I plugged it in, it generated a lot of heat (more than expected), but I left it on for an hour or two.
