So So product for fillers, adhesives and sealants

I was trying to use this on a large hole in a truck restoration project. It did not work. The substrate didn't adhere to the metal and the bondo just ripped it off. The holes are too small to securely attach the bondo to the metal through them. You need to make a product with much larger holes in the straps. I have a few more of these and am going to try them on a hole that I can access from both sides. This does not work for blind holes. But it should work if you can hold it on both sides…

Pros
  • For use with Bondo body filler and fiberglass resins
Cons
  • Legacy model

If you do it yourself, you will love it!

This material is excellent. Back when I worked in the body shop, large holes were covered with fiberglass and then wetted with tiger hair. When polished, tiger hair was very itchy and you had to wear a very expensive mask to keep the fibers from getting into your lungs. With this screening, Tiger Hair is just a memory. Sometimes we've used old latticework from barred doors, but it takes an artist to keep them from bunching up and it's really messy. This product reminds me of drywall mesh tape…

Pros
  • The patch material can be cut, folded and shaped to most contours
Cons
  • I will write later

Works great but adhesion could be better

So I had to rebuild a wheel on my 02 Silverado due to rust. Rust has eaten through both the inner wheel arch seam and the outer body panel where they are joined and welded. This is a common problem. If enough of the seam can be salvaged and treated with a rust converter, you can use these patches/meshes to patch the seam and repair the entire damaged area. I used the old structure as a scaffold to hold the patch/mesh after using a straight edge like a corner ruler to replicate the seam. It…

Pros
  • Self-adhesive patch keeps patch in place
Cons
