The Next Best Since OEM

Not a genuine Subaru part but much better quality than the last knock sensor I bought on eBay for my 01 Forester. My knock sensor code is gone and my Subi runs much smoother. Now if I can figure out how to get rid of p0420 I will be in great shape.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Security

Subaru is back to normal. 😊

Sensor arrived at checkout earlier than expected and came with a new wiring harness. Installation was completed in five minutes and on the test drive the vibration and lack of power when moving away disappeared and the Check Engine light went out on the third start of the car. Very happy with the result.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I should have bought

First I tried an unnamed cheaper knock sensor. This item didn't work at all - had to send it back for a refund. Went to a local auto parts store to get his "shop brand" which cost the same as Bosch and had a patch cord problem. Decided to pay for this Bosch and no regrets. There were no problems with the installation, it has been working for several months.

Pros
  • first everything is fine!
Cons
  • Protection

Perfect fit for 2000 Subaru Legacy GT (EJ251)

Perfect fit for my 2000 Subaru Legacy GT (EJ251) (150,000 miles). After installation, the initial acceleration fluctuations from standstill were gone and overall acceleration was significantly better. I am very happy with this item. The photo was taken after I installed it on top of the engine just below the throttle pulley. It's a bit hard since you're just such a bottleneck to get your work done, but it wasn't too bad.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • No instructions

I was not disappointed. The contacts were gold-plated, as were the .

As a former Bosch fuel injection specialist and German auto mechanic, I chose this sensor because of the Bosch name and the quality I saw when I saw the product. I was not disappointed. The contacts were gold plated like the original. I knew Japanese automakers who licensed Bosch injection technology to their automakers decades ago. Why install a ten dollar part just to have it perform like new and then doubt that the problem is more complex? When you consider how important this part is to fuel

Bosch knock sensor 65018 !ATTENTION!

!WARNING! The item I received did not work immediately. The included wiring harness did not fit the sensor and my car. Check for continuity from the bottom of the center hole to the contact inside the connector. In my case the coil had continuity to the right output pin, but the harness was built for the left pin on the coil. In addition, the output of the wiring harness, the connection to the output of the sensor, had to be connected to the right side contact, but was designed for the left…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Bosch to the rescue

Perfect for my 1999 Legacy Brighton Wagon 2.2L (EJ22). This is the third knock sensor I have purchased for this car. The first was a cheap off-brand from Autozone that didn't work, period, and was returned. The second was another non-NAPA brand, the suspension seemed sketchy at first but I crossed my fingers. It doesn't even take two months before it starts to falter. Garbage. Eventually I cut my losses and switched to a used Bosch brand OE Subaru. NAPA wants over $100 for one, Revane wants one

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Hard to say
