First use but great for my needs.

Wish it was all metal but plastic offers more versatility with 1/4" and 1/2" ends to work with most router bits. (Not only Bosch) Also works over or under fixed base, even with RA1156 adapter. There are no instructions, but it's very easy to use once you understand a little how the centering pin works. Loosen base plate, insert pin and tighten. Align the cone or ours and adjust the cone so that the cone presses against the base plate or template with a light force. Tighten the base. Done Remove

Oversized to fit most collets

Pin is slightly oversized and requires further precision machining to fit most collets. To put it simply, there is largely a lack of quality control by the person who makes these pens for Bosch. Machine tools are not properly maintained and after a certain number of operations, tool wear is not corrected. Cheap and lazy. There has never been anything like this in a company like Robert Bosch. But now it's all history. You need access to a high-speed lathe. And if you already have it, you don't…

So I "dared " it and it worked out great. I can also use it for my old one.

Bought for a centering round stand for the new DeWalt DWP611PK compact milling kit as the original DW is twice the price for the job DNP617 and some reviews weren't too encouraging (stunning, etc..) . So I "dared" it and it worked out great. I can also use it on my old but still powerful Bosch B1450 (it never occurred to me to do this procedure in the past). Turns out I needed it more than I thought I would. In order to secure the liner guide to the base, a centering pin for the insert set must

Assembly required. How much will assembly increase the cost?

The fit and finish of this accessory is not what I would expect from a Bosch product. Inserting the pin into the cone wasn't as easy as some reviewers might suggest. I tried to insert the pen manually and it didn't work. The bundle of plastic ribs needs to be deformed to fit/center around the pin. Do not use a metal hammer to drive the pin into the cone. I made that mistake. The pen is soft and swells when struck with a hammer. I had to cut the chain to fit the pin in the 1/4" collet. The…

You could make one, but why?

I'm no router expert and didn't know what that thing was. Maybe you're in the same boat because it's not well explained. This product is a guide that fits into the collet of your router to allow you to accurately center the base plate on your router when changing. This may be necessary for various reasons, e.g. B. for bolting the router base to the router table or replacing the base plate with one that fits the porter cable style sockets. If none of this makes sense to you (I didn't know what a

Not impressed but kept

Well Bosch usually makes me happy but here they got it wrong. And it's not the seller's fault, they were just fantastic. The plastic hollow cone is not quite round and the seat on the shaft wears out over time. They saved 1/2p on plastic instead of producing a quality product like most of their devices. It has tensioning ribs inside the cone that make contact with the stem when the cone is seated, so squeezing them together provides a snug fit - for a while. You have no control over how these…
