I have a pair of Cascadia shoes and thought one of these with Goretex linings would work for El Camino in Spain. Ordered a GTX model, looked great. I noticed a few things: 1. The foam padding on the tongue is much smaller than the regular model2. Due to the less foam on the tongue and the narrower width, I developed irritation on the top of the foot from the hole which had a slight accumulation of material around it. These Brooks Cascadia 16 GTX fit as expected. I wear size 11.5 and have a rather narrow foot. They fit me just like other Brooks shoes unless I buy an Adrenaline Narrow width. Anyway, after wearing them for three days on muddy trails in Kauai, Hawaii, I can tell they offer excellent traction and direct water and mud splashes onto the toe with ease. I have Brooks Glycerin for road running. On my second pair. In order not to ruin my running shoes, I wanted running shoes. I bought the Cascadia last week and had a great weekend morning run. Some dirt, urine and a wet brush. No wet feet. Highly recommended.

I've been running at Brooks for many years. I started with an evaluation and fit at a local sweatshop (there aren't any more) and I would definitely recommend this for your initial fit. I take 7 in shoes and 8 in sneakers. After the store closed I shopped online, but always at Brooks and more recently at Cascadia. I'm 70 and don't run far or fast but these shoes were excellent.

These Gore-Tex shoes were perfect for hiking in Bonnie Scotland's wet conditions. Lightweight and kept my feet dry plus they have amazing grip. Can't walk anymore but if I could it would be a good choice.
