That's cool! in Computers and Accessories

This works great. I was able to output 1 x 3440 x 1440 x 110 Hz and 2 x 2560 x 1440 x 75 Hz monitors through a USB-C DP port on my laptop. Excellent material!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Older model

Works as advertised

This product does exactly what it says it does, flawlessly. It does not overheat and offers the performance stated in the description. Also, I had to contact CableMatters customer service for a general setup issue that I was unable to resolve, and they responded the same day to resolve my issue. In fact, they even tested my setup issue in a lab! Great products and service!

Works great, right out of the box

Cable Matters is consistent in making reliable peripherals, and the connector is no exception. Windows 10 recognized it immediately and grabbed the right driver. The display quality was pin-sharp and the response times excellent. Additionally, the USB-C cable is more than long, making it much easier to place and use than competing products. The processing quality is excellent as usual. Just make sure you plan on using DisplayPort connectors or an HDMI adapter.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Hardly ever

Couldn't wake monitors

I connected it to a Surface 3 laptop with two external monitors. The display worked fine as long as the monitors never went to sleep, but as soon as they did the hub LED started blinking and I couldn't get the display back until I unplugged the hub and plugged it back in. updated all the drivers i could find which are out of date and still no dice. Unfortunately I had to send it back and use the dock.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Speed

This works fine as long as your graphics card (integrated or not) can handle three monitors. I wish I had 3 4K monitors to test this, but I only have three 1080 HD monitors. Got it for my gaming laptop to connect to and use as a desktop when working from home. . It easily handles three monitors. Windows cannot handle three monitors PLUS with one laptop screen, so you will need to adjust the display settings in Windows to use three monitors, which will turn off the laptop screen if you use it in

Pros
  • Quick Switch
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
