Excellent cable - serial cables

Works great with Cisco Catalyst 2960G-48TC-L. I got this because my computer didn't have a serial port. After installing the drivers everything worked. note: in putty i have to type com3 not com1.

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Works great with cables and connections

After playing around with a few other adapters, an old Windows XP laptop with a DB9 connector and trying it out on my regular Win10 machine, has this cable finally deserves to connect. to the Juniper EX4200 console port. I wish I could start with this cable as it would save time and money.

Pros
  • Cables and Connections
Cons
  • So far so good

Worked great with HP Procurve

Used with putty and connects instantly with no issues on Win10. It shows up as "Unknown USB device" under "USB Controllers" but is also recognized as "USB Serial Port (COM5)" under "Ports" so there's no problem getting it to work with Windows. It's nice to have a black console cable compared to the standard blue cables.

Pros
  • Serial Cables
Cons
  • confusing

worked great on my Win10 computer connected to my Fortigate. The drivers were on the disc and the label said they could be downloaded from their website, but that was totally unnecessary. I like that the cable is flat but wouldn't mind a thicker jacket on the cables but for the price I would definitely recommend it. It's nice not having to mess with USB to RS232 cables and then RS232 consoles.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • For a long time

I wish I could start with this cable as it would save time and money.

Pros
  • Built-in FTDI-FT232RL chip, fully support Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS, Linux and Android. The driver can be easily installed by downloading it from the official CableCreation website.

Works great with HP Procurve

Used with Putty and connected straight away on Win10 with no issues. It shows up as "Unknown USB device" under "USB Controllers" but is also recognized as "USB Serial Port (COM5)" under "Ports" so there's no problem getting it to work with Windows. It's nice to have a black console cable compared to the standard blue cables.

Pros
  • Handy serial cable for connecting to proprietary routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi controllers and other console port devices such as Cisco, Ubiquiti, Ubiquiti, TP-Link, Linksys, Juniper, Fortigate, Mikrotik, Huawei, HP ProCurve. Powered by USB port, no external power supply required.
Cons
  • Very expensive
