Take it from me (mechanic) it's class A1

I don't know these other customers but believe me (mechanic) the valve cover fits perfectly. If you know what you're doing, you shouldn't have any problems. A1 quality. Plugged in and no leaks. Used the gasket that came with the lid. Be sure to tighten to 71 lbs. please.

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • Almost never

Do not overtighten the screws.

Includes 2 seals. The one that already came on the cover leaked worse than the BP oil spill. I still have one and so far so good. 6ft-lb bolted. Absolutely no more and no less. Also make sure the screw holes are free of oil or dirt. The oil is not compressed and this breaks the threads.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Almost OK

Don't waste your time.

What a waste! Installed a few weeks after I ordered and immediately leaked from three bolt holes. I ended up using some Ultra-Gray to finally stop the leaks. Then, a few days later, the internal PCV valve failed, resulting in multiple engine codes and rough idling. Wrote the seller, no reply. Save money and buy something better.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Useless features

Wait with GM!

The cap was 1/4" shorter all the way around. The gasket failed shortly after installation and had it not been for a leak in the cooling system causing the check engine light to come on I would have had the puddles of oil that ran all over the engine and driveway, never noticed I know parts companies are on strike and it is difficult to get parts at the moment but DO NOT BUY this product!

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's a piece of junk

This piece of junk caused a vacuum leak in the crankcase. Been trying to figure out why for a week. At the same time replaced the belt. Replaced the crankshaft seal and water pump. You read a thread on the GM forums about aftermarket valve covers. Removed the oil filler cap and the squeaking went away. Replaced GM valve cover and fixed problem. Garbage. I stuck with it. Use as target!

  • Best
Cons
  • weak

Removed my engine and engine part codes

My car originally had codes P0106, P0131 and P0101 and this part fixed them all. Chevy didn't think things through very well when they decided to put a PCV in a cam cover that fails every 60,000 miles, give or take. I got this item for $54 which is not bad if you do the work yourself. (Yes, most cars are only $5, but I don't own most cars). This took about 35 minutes and comes with 2 pads. While I think Chevy did a poor job designing this car, this part is good quality and does what it was made

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Cheap, you get what you pay for

I don't know why I always look for the cheapest. I am always disappointed with the quality of the product. And this one is no exception to this trend. I had to buy a new cover after the diaphragm deteriorated like a lot of people do on cruises. I installed it on the car with no problem and when I tightened it to the required torque one of the bolts broke straight away! I'm not sure what material the screws are made of, but they're certainly not high quality. But again, you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent valve cover trade

My husband was a mechanic for 13 years and grew up working on cars. Because he switched jobs a few years ago, when we need to do maintenance or repairs on our cars, he uses his buddy workshop. His buddy lets us use it for free, but usually we either buy him something or help him out in the store somehow. Anyway, he's repairing a Chevy and needs a cam cover. I asked him which one he wanted and he settled on this one. I also baked him some cakes and we bought him a case of beer. He really helped…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Everything is fine
