That worked great. Without them I would never have pulled the valve. I saw a similar product online used with a drill press but it cost $200. I bought a 1" connector fitting with a slightly larger diameter than the valve (1" I think) and used it between the faucet and the puller to pull out the final end of the valve. It was really sticky. The cartridge eject tool didn't make it easy to remove the cartridge, but it made it possible. Somehow the rubber seal on the cartridge got stuck in the cavity making it difficult to rotate the cartridge at all. It also made the animal remove.
