Spend your few extra dollars and buy another

I recommend staying away from this product. Real metal of decent quality but that's about it. The first issue I had was the spring tension on this unit, the factory unit had more spring tension and it's not enough to prevent the extruder from skipping as I assume that's why you buy that. However, you can fix it by either replacing the spring or heating and stretching it a bit. I decided to stretch mine, it worked for a short time and the spring eventually returned to its original size. The…

Headache. good for 3D printer accessories

First of all, the lack of instructions is annoying. I know the installation is easy and you can find it on YouTube. But there will be some who will need it and it will create a problem, particularly knowing which way the spring screw goes. Here the pictures show one thing and the YouTube video shows another. I followed one on video. This caused the spring tension to become so severe that it flattened my filament (PLA) causing problems to the point where the gears could not penetrate. So I…

Extrusion issue not resolved but quality improved

I originally got this for my Ender 3 because I was having intermittent extrusion issues, the filament was slipping over the gear and not having enough tension. I was able to temporarily fix it by squeezing the swingarm. I did some research and decided to use this all metal extruder. It didn't solve my extrusion/pull problem, but it's a quality upgrade that I'll keep and recommend to others as well. Pros: * The build quality is fantastic.
