expensive long fiber

I have 4 of these Cisco fiber optic transceivers that are used to connect remote buildings on our large campus. "LR" optics are long-distance optics and intended for long-distance use over singlemode fiber, not multimode fiber. In our case, the mileage is about 650 m around the campus. Of our 4 transceivers, 1 had CRC errors and channel supply issues until it completely failed after a month (and they came from a Cisco reseller who gets them direct from the factory). ship to order). I don't know

Used in a Cisco SG500X switch in a data center. The item came with all the original tags and packaging. It was marked SFP-10G-LR-X, which turned out to be an extended temperature range part. It took some experimentation to figure out how to plug in the module and then the cable as I don't use optical connections that often. . To insert the module, first lower the wire bracket. Insert it all the way in (if it doesn't go all the way in, it's probably the wrong way round), then remove the rubber…

We set up and tried a few and they worked, but they aren't Cisco. I contacted the seller and he said he only promised Cisco compatibility but the text when I bought it said it was a real Cisco. He offered to drop the price by 30% or refund the price if I returned the product. I was short on time so I took
