Good cheap tent suitable for camping and hiking

Took my family on a camping trip for the first time (they are city girls/boys). This tent is not just a pop up tent so teaching the kids how to put together a tent that is not just a throw over and sleeping structure was a delight. The rain cover fits perfectly and the zips are of decent quality for a entry-level tent. For a 6 person tent it sleeps 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 goldendoodle very comfortably. - 1 star for false advertising on behalf of Coleman. The instructions and website showโ€ฆ

Excellent two person queen tent

We bought this for me and my husband. The first time we installed it at night and in the dark (with a flashlight). We were short on time because the instructions said we needed a few more sticks. After much deliberation we determined that these poles should be used for another tent and it happened pretty quickly. It took us about an hour because we spent a lot of time looking for these pillars. Excellent tent for two people with a large bed, space for luggage. I could stand up (5'5") but myโ€ฆ

Great for the price except weird rain poles (no deal breaker)

As with any Coleman tent, subtract 2 people from the listed number of people who can comfortably sleep in the tent with their gear. This is a great family tent for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children). Maybe next time it will fit a 70lb dog too. I always find that a 3ft person is enough so we don't stand next to each other so a 12ft tent will do. My 8 year old and I set up the tent in 10 minutes. The only odd thing was the length of the side gray bars. The ones in my bag were 165 inches each andโ€ฆ

The second trip was quite warm and we enjoyed the fact that it was.

I am writing a review after two trips. On the first trip there were only two of us in a tent and there was obviously a lot of space. On our second trip there were 5 of us (including 2 adults) and there was plenty of room for everyone and we brought some bags. On our first trip it rained heavily one night. The tent held without any problems. After 10 hours of non-stop rain and light winds, we noticed a few drops in the tent, but nothing more. This is a tent not a house so no complaints. He didโ€ฆ

Kept dry in tornado conditions

Can't complain. We stayed dry from one of the worst storms I've ever been in (and not just while camping, but in my entire life). Setup was easy and quick. Only 2 hours after setting up the tent, a terrible storm swept through the camp and immediately started raining and hailing out of nowhere. The hail ranged from the size of a pea to slightly larger than a marble/nickel. The wind was constant 35 m/s with gusts up to 65+ m/s. The storm lasted 30 minutes and went exactly as it came. Incredible tent! - Camping & Hiking

The tent is fantastic! There is a story. We both arrived at the campsite on a glorious day with blue skies. We started reading the setup instructions. You definitely need two people to set up the tent. Not being the flashiest tool in the toolbox I thought it would be a good idea to pull out my phone and watch a video as the first setting is always a bit intimidating. When I opened the phone, a big red screen appeared with a weather alert. "In 16 minutes you will have torrential downpours withโ€ฆ

Camping in Louisiana in heavy rain. 4/24/15 - 4/25/15

I went to the campsite earlier than my friends, so I started putting up this tent myself. FIRST pro, the instructions aren't printed on the piece of paper your buddy will use to start the fire, but on a large fabric tab sewn to the inside of the tent bag. There are 2 gray bars and 3 black bars. Tent sleeves are color coded, black poles in black sleeves, gray poles in gray sleeves. the last black pole forms a canopy on top of the raincoat (which, by the way, is big enough to sit under). It tookโ€ฆ

Rating for 3 years by an experienced tourist.

My family and I have had this tent for almost three years now. My wife and I averaged about 10 camping trips a year before we had kids. Now we have two small children, so we don't go there that often. We did long hikes up and down the east and west coasts. Needless to say we have a decent camping experience. We bought this tent about 3 years ago when my wife got pregnant with our first child so we could have more space. Since then the tent has been used for our usual 4-5 trips a year. The tentโ€ฆ

Awning is good but needs sealing

This tent is best pitched by two people. He does not stand alone and walk for a long time. The poles are color coded to match where they attach to the tent, but there is a shorter black canopy pole that we rubber banded to separate it from the black tent poles. It was hard to find a 9' x 12' tarp, so we took a 10' x 12' tarp and folded it up. At first we were happy with the tent as it was quite roomy and allowed us to stand (none of us were taller than 5ft 6in). Also, it was a bit windy insideโ€ฆ
