I have been using Altra wide toe box shoes for years. The narrow toe box of most shoes presses my shoes together to the point that they begin to slip under the adjoining toe (little toe under the one next to it). I was using Altra Escalante in all black as a "dress" shoe but Altra stopped making the all-black version. I found these on Walmart and decided to give them a try. The first pair at size 8 seemed a little short so I returned them and got an 8.5 shoe. These have worked very well for me.
Pros
This was a gift to my daddy! He absolutely loves the fit!
Cons
Shoes may be uncomfortable for users with high arches
I have a reaccuring foot issue where a tendon gets inflamed and my whole foot will swell up. When this happens, I'm usually on crutches for three to four days and in a walking boot for two weeks. A coworker suggested I try shoes with a wide toe-box. I looked at some other brands and they were very pricey. I wanted to see how they really fit and felt with me doing everyday stuff before committing a king's ransom toward buying them. I came upon an add for Bronax, and the price for their shoeswas…
Pros
Good fit. Ugly looking but comfortable
Cons
Running shoes with a wide toe box may not offer enough structure or support
These shoes are great, right out of the box! If you usually wear the Altra Lone Peak and are tired of spending $140 every 8 months on a new pair then these are definitely worth a shot. Been wearing them a week and the fit/feel is exactly the same. Can’t speak to the durability yet, but let’s be honest…. How durable are Altras? At $43, you can buy 3 pairs of these to equal one pair of Altras. I also love the solid colors (I got black). Loving them!
Pros
Very nice, high quality shoe and very good value for the price!
Cons
Could lead to blisters on the foot due to a poor fit
I got these shoes a couple of months ago an I have 5 E wide feet , I wear these shoes everyday an the fit is great foe my wide feet I use to buy NB shoes an have never had a good fit with them. The wide toe fit is just perfect an I will be getting more of this brand of shoe , So glad I found a good well made shoe an fit for my big boat feet .
Pros
Very comfortable and lightweight.Have and will continue to refer product.Love love love them
Cons
May not be suitable for runners with overpronation or supination
I loved them but they weren’t quite large enough. I can fit some size 13 shoes so I tried them but they were a little too short for my giant feet. My toes were rubbing against the front of the toe-box. Hopefully they’ll add some larger sizes soon
Shoe has a wide toe box much like what Birkenstock's used to, and it feels great to be able to wiggle my toes. Most shoes have a toe box too narrow- that being a trend of shoes for way too long- which can result in in all manner of foot ailments, not just cramped toes. Good job there! I don't find them very supportive, however. They aren't bad, but I think they could use a bit more cushion. I might be spoiled with shoes which have the cushion, but not the spaciousness of these. It's not a deal…
My toes haven't been so happy, My feet and I really like everything about the BRONAX Men's Wide Cushioned Supportive Road Running Shoe, US 13,/ W 390 / H 6'1.
Pros
The shoes have a breathable upper that helps keep your feet cool and dry
The most important thing on these sneakers is of course the one feature you're looking if you order: the wide toebox, and in that regard, it delivers. However, the cushion part is not good: they're hard/stiff and when you're not walking, that is, when you're standing still, you can feel the hardness. Oh, they are true to size.
Pros
They are comfortable even during long exercise sessions, preventing blisters and discomfort
45 is equivalent to the size 11 I wear, that's how they are labeled. The wide toe box leaves plenty of space for my toes, including a seperator I wear to correct damage from years of shoes too narrow. They are borderline on a clown shoe like appearance. I'm not vain, so comfort trumps that. The weight was heavier than expected, but they fit well. Quality seems on par for the price.
Pros
The wide shoe is great and comfortable.
Cons
May not be flexible enough for runners who appreciate a more natural foot feel
I would compare the fit to Altra shoes which cost 3-4 times as much. Worn for 5-6 weeks now with plenty of walking and standing. No signs of coming apart so far. I believe in wearing shoes that are more neutral (flat). So these have a very mild heel drop (slant from heel to toe area). I have a morton's neuromy (bones near ball of foot squeeze a nerve when toe area is too narrow) and these are plenty wide enough in the toe box for toes to naturally spread out. My Dr. gave me two separate…
Pros
Super wide toe box, they actually fit my feet right away. No uncomfortable break in period.
Cons
Could feel too cushioned for runners who prefer a firmer feel
