My problem was solved: Accessories and consumables

We bought a new Sony Smart TV. But we still have a lot of old VHS tapes that can be played on our old VCR. The new television did not have a red-white-yellow input. My brother said I need a converter so I ordered one. But I couldn't get it to work. This is not the converter's fault. The problem lay in my nearly 80-year-old brain. After figuring out that you need to connect BOTH the included HDMI and USB cables, my tapes play. Hooray! ABLEWE tech support offered to help me, but I've watched…

User friendly - graphics are ok

I think it depends on what you are using it for. I used it to connect my Wii to an HDTV via HDMI. Apparently the Wii doesn't recognize the updated resolution, so the output over the composite video cables is still 480i. In general everything looks fine. I would rate it about the same as a composite video. Colors are washed out a bit when the converter is set to 720p and washed out a bit at 1080p due to motion blur. One day I'll take out the Super Nintendo and see what it looks like. The washout

Our old flat screen TV had RCA and component video (plus HDMI) connections. The new TV only has HDMI. With this little gadget, we were able to quickly and easily connect an old VHS player to our TV! I have a picture quality of "5", but remember that the quality depends on the quality of the VHS tape and its resolution. This gadget doesn't make the resolution any better than what VHS puts out, which is no better than 480 resolution (compared to 720/1080/4K). So I doubt it's "upscaled" - not for…

Not worth it for audio and video accessories

I dug up my Nintendo 64, hooked it up to my newfangled flat screen TV and as expected the picture is very blurry. So I thought it might be worth a try as it had pretty good reviews. It works out? Yes and no. I had to take photos and compare images to see the difference between use and non-use. I couldn't just look at the TV and see the difference. So in my opinion it's not worth the money if you have to look that closely to see the difference. I'll give you a little tip, these companies don't…
