REQUIRED purchase and CSR tap hits a huge home run!

I deliver USPS Mail 6-8 hours a day, five days a week. This little GEM gets me through the day. Highlights: 1.) Excellent reception - 52.) Comfortable buttons that respond instantly - 53.) Batteries last a very, very, very long time - 54.) The quality of the speaker is excellent considering it fits in my shirt pocket - 55.) The volume knob has a significant low/high range and the rotary knob is very responsive - 56.) It's durable and can withstand a lot of movement in and out of the car - 57) I

Retired/Updated: (No) chew batteries if you don't

My issue with this product (battery drain on standby/shutdown) seems to be resolved. My initial 2 star review is below and was written after a company representative emailed me that the battery would die for several weeks if "off" is normal. A later check with another representative resulted in a new unit being sent to me. This device works much better. It has been 7 weeks with the device being "off" most of the time and the battery indicator still showing "fully charged". Good product - would…

Nice but I prefer the Sangean 800

I bought the Sangean 800 DT at the same time because I couldn't decide based on the reviews. If you have a Prime then that's a good idea as these two radios are very close together and what's important to me might not be important to you. The most important feature for me was the quality of the FM stereo sound in the headphones. For $60+ it should sound good. Sangean wins by far. The sound is much wider and richer, and the bass boost is like yesterday's volume toggle. CC Pocket's sound is very…

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • Sad packaging

With a number of other radios (Grundig G2, Sangean 180, Tecsun 380, Tivdio V-115, AGPTEC, Tecsun 360), C. Crane CC Pocket completes the family of portable radios - each with its own advantages and Limitations. Crane Pocket checks many of these boxes. Really compact, very powerful FM reception as advertised (no need to use an FM antenna to hear stations where I live), great scroll volume not blocked by all other buttons when locked, Presets, clock and alarm, NOAA weather band, cool clock/RF…

  • Large selection
Cons

Higher frequencies than Sangean but louder and clearer speaker

The CC Crane speaker sounds much louder and clearer than the Sangean DT-400W speaker. The CCrane speaker sounds higher frequency than the Sangean. This suits me as I hear radio conversations much clearer and louder. The Sangean sounds smoother and richer, but the volume needs to be kept low or it will start sounding harsh. The Sangean is designed to be heard up close to appreciate the sound. CCrane can handle a little more volume and still sounds cleaner. CCrane can be heard much louder and…

Pros

Cons
