My initial 2 star review is below and was written after a company representative emailed me that the battery would die for several weeks if "off" is normal. I bought the Sangean 800 DT at the same time because I couldn't decide based on the reviews. If you have a Prime then that's a good idea as these two radios are very close together and what's important to me might not be important to you. The CC Crane speaker sounds much louder and clearer than the Sangean DT-400W speaker. The CCrane speaker sounds higher frequency than the Sangean. This suits me as I hear radio conversations much clearer and louder. The Sangean sounds smoother and richer, but the volume needs to be kept low or it will start sounding harsh.
