The glass surface has a coating similar to the adhesion you get from straight tempered glass with 3D printing hairspray, not hairspray. The downside here is that the adhesion to the original Ender surface is so tacky that you need to be a little more careful when using it when printing on freestanding materials as they tend to snag and pull.
