Save money on soft-shell carriers

I bought this for a trip to Yellowstone from Sacramento, California. There were pocket holes before we got to Western Yellowstone, Montana.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Has served us well on many trips

It was worth the investment. We've ridden it for thousands of miles, even in heavy rain, rain all day, and haven't had any issues with it.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Some problems

O stars! for external accessories

I bought this CURT bag and the CURT luggage net that came with it. 3 days into my trip the net was torn and there were holes in the pocket. I really like the CURT Cargo Basket, but these two add-on products are rubbish.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

Still runs well after 2000+ miles in PNW

I've made several trips between northern Idaho and the Oregon coast in rainy and windy weather, and despite some reviews I've seen, mine still holds up to the weather (and miles) well!

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Some small things

So far so good in cargo management

Not tested in the storm yet. Very spacious. The straps that were included held up very well, didn't loosen up during the 9 hour ride, I was impressed. The straps are long enough to reach the end. Fits perfectly with the stand we bought from HF Tool. The only drawback is that the zipper can only be opened on two sides, which makes it difficult to load evenly.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • High price

Looks like a sturdy bag

Looks like a sturdy bag and worked well on our trip. No downpour, but stayed dry for a few hours on the Autobahn with a light drizzle. I will note one thing - the way they recommend routing the tie downs doesn't seem optimal. Instead of going from the edge to the next vertical side through the attachment point, I went further down into the pocket. Worked to reduce slack when attaching and also offered more coverage in terms of holding things.

  • Weight

Fits perfectly in my Curt basket

The bag is what it is! I can't argue with the size, quality or description of the bag. I have a few issues, but they are personal and do not affect my overall satisfaction with the bag. Blitz - It would be nice if it was from 3 sides. Opens only from 2 sides.2. Better anchor placement. Not sure why 2 straps in one direction and the other 2 in the other.3. I wish the bag had an internal "support" structure. It wasn't 100% full for me and collapsed like a bag. It would be nice to have a plastic…

I recently moved to another state about 650 miles from my old home. I did this route with this bag on my Curt roof rack during which my speed never exceeded 130km/h and it rained intermittently. When I arrived I found that the entire top of the bag was full of holes in the protective rubber lining simply from the wind ruffling it. All of the tools I kept in it got wet, and due to the humid climate, they rusted almost immediately, and a few power tools shorted out and burned out. I'm just…

Good product and spacious!

We first used our bag on a long trip around the Outer Banks. We stowed all of our luggage in it, as well as a few other items for the trip. It's super spacious! We put it in our compatible Curt roof basket and had absolutely no fear of losing it along the way. I put a tarp under the bag to prevent the bag from snagging on basket gear. Arriving at every stage of our trip it was completely dry in the bag despite riding through several sustained heavy downpours. It was a bit tricky to install the…
