Second time is a beauty

Easy to install although I wish the outer cage snapped in tighter. The first one kept falling off and I expect this one will happen pretty soon. The holes are probably not rodent proof, but I haven't found a better alternative. I like the details that go with the house and I especially like that I don't have to unscrew anything to regularly check for internal blockages. My shingles has seen better days and the less I mess with them the better.

A good product. - Dryer parts and accessories

Well made and works great. When I bought my house, the previous owner had blinds installed without a cover to keep the birds out. Needless to say, the birds ended up in my dryer. They actually built a nest at the outlet of my dryer causing my dryer to overheat. Thank goodness for the overheating device, otherwise my house could catch fire. We installed it a few months ago and it works great. Existing and without birds.

Two Important Things to Know Before Buying

Overall it's well made, but there are two important things to mention.1. Screws are not included. Since I was replacing an old dryer air outlet cover, the old screws were quite rusty so buying the correct screws was an extra leg to the hardware store. The design of this product will not stick to vinyl siding, so you may need a lot more than a dab of silicone sealant to prevent water from the dryer vent from re-entering your home.

Pretty basic Best in Dryer Parts & Accessories

I was cleaning the vent and one of the flaps broke so I got this as a replacement. Undoing the four screws and cleaning the wall was easy. This was also easy to screw on. It was harder to keep it straight, especially since the flap clip doesn't stay put if you bend it. I'm not sure I'm that big of a fan of the vent clip, but next time I clean it I'll love it. I just hope they don't loosen and fall off. Putting the cage on afterwards was also easy. I finished it with silicone and it's good. I'm…

If it's not at ground level you can pass by

Based on other reviews I bought this vent. This might work best in a situation where you can service it if it's installed at ground level. I installed this vent (with some adjustments, my exhaust didn't fit in the vent sleeve. The vent plastic had to be trimmed to fit). . This would not be a problem if the vent was at or near the floor. My vent is set at 12 feet. I have to climb down the stairs every time I need to clean the vent. Also note that it is plastic. I live in the south, it can have a

NOT easy to install

The base is designed to be mounted on the air duct itself. This is not possible due to the seam construction of most pipes. If your vent pipe sticks out too far, the base won't sit flush with the wall either. I was able to cut the grooves deep enough to install the socket at the end of the vent pipe, although I couldn't mount it flush with the outside wall. I had screws long enough to get to the wall of the house. I smeared window sealant into the tube along the edge of the base where it…
