Perfect for my 300,000 miles 2001 Tundra

I bought this for my 2001 Toyota Tundra TRD 4x4 4.7L and it fits perfectly. 2 hours from start to finish including stops for 2 phone calls and several times to watch this YouTube video on installation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpNqsXDL8Lw. Some reviewers stated that the fit wasn't perfect, the fan shroud wasn't aligned properly - I didn't have any of those issues. The heatsink arrived securely packaged in a box - although the box had a few holes, the fins were undamaged. The 2…

Works great, survived transport with little damage but no leaks

Cooler is great, runs a few degrees cooler than the original. The outer frame has a clip on the mounting nuts that fell off in the box. I just used my original OEM frame and pulled this heatsink out of the one that came with it as the mounting bolts are welded in and the frame is more rigid. Makes the job a lot easier as you won't have any trouble fitting it into an already installed frame or removing the fan cover. Not to mention the fiddling with clips and weld nuts. The box it came in was…

Great product, inadequate packaging

I could give 5 stars but the packaging is very bad. Both ends of the box were torn. How the speednuts didn't get lost is beyond me. Due to poor packaging, one of the radiator bosses was pressed against the radiator. I had to straighten it out before installing the radiator. Several radiator fins were flattened and also had to be straightened. As mentioned by other reviewers, a couple of nuts were removed from the radiator and somehow left in the box. My first impulse was to send it back because

Big pain good for radiator

This radiator was perfect for my 2001 Toyota Tundra. I installed it and removed my first mounting screw. I noticed that when I looked down at all of the mounting clips, they were splayed apart at an angle, causing the mounting screws to run short. Here comes the cooler. I bent the clamps thinking the threads would be closer to the top of the screws. Reinstall the heater. Still not working for me. Removed the cooler again. I removed the mounting plate from the old radiator and the bracket from…

MAJOR MANUFACTURING DEFECTS

The heatsink has a smaller core volume than an OEM all-aluminum block. I drained 2 gallons from my existing radiator and it only took 1½ gallons to fill the new one. I believe the volume difference is due to the smaller plastic upper and lower containers. Everything else went together well, but the radiator mounting U-nuts were too big and I couldn't use the OEM mounting bolts. I threw away the sheet metal nuts and used 5/16" bolts with washers on each side and lock washers under the nuts. The…

Terrible packaging.

The cooler for my 2000 Tundra might have been fine when it left the factory but the packaging was frankly embarrassing. No internal support like other radiators I've ordered, just a box with a few light foam corners all broken and dangling in the box as if the radiators just slid around with no padding or support. at all. As you can see the gearbox connectors broke through the box and both were BENT with the end of one obviously broken and you can see the bottom left side was bent in (look at…

Keep calm, swap out the radiator

Installed on a 2002 Toyota Tundra 4.7 V8. These coolers use plastic tanks that can crack and after 15 years I decided to replace them before taking a truck on a long trip two months later. The radiator came in a thick box and was in good condition despite a small cut on the box. It was devoid of some foam inserts so it didn't fully stabilize in the box. However, the only problem I found was that (as others have noted) some of the push-in nuts on the two side brackets were loose in the box. The…

Almost like the original

Looks no worse than the original with one exception. As mentioned elsewhere, the side brackets that secure the heatsink and hold the plastic cover in place have nuts, as opposed to the welded nuts that the original had. However, you can easily replace them with original brackets. The transmission lines were fine, as was the jacket fit that others have mentioned as an issue. It was well packaged and not damaged. A tip: after you've reassembled the system and it's pressurized, check it under a…

Small problems but not a bad product.

I bought this Denso radiator to replace a leaking original radiator in my 2003 Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8 and it arrived undamaged and was correct regarding the location of various connectors and touching the mounting holes correctly. My main reason for choosing this over the original was the price. A real Toyota costs just under $400 compared to just over $100. I figured for the price I'd risk it. The reason I only give this product three (3) stars is because of the mounting clips and the fact that
