Works for me on my review.

Everyone does metabolize alcohol differently, and we all have different philosophies as to whether these things work and if we can trust them. For me, these test strips work consistently with how I have been drinking and how my body feels at the moment of the test. How it worked for me:- 2.5 glasses of wine (about 18 oz) drunken evenly over 1.5 hours (had some cheese and nuts); tested an hour after the last sip - test pad turned light yellow.- 1 glass of wine (about 7 oz) drunken evenly over 1…

Pros
  • Home Tests
Cons
  • May cause confusion among mothers regarding safe and acceptable levels of alcohol consumption during breastfeeding

Not confident in 2-minute test

Whenever I've had a glass or two of wine, I'll wait an hour or two and use test strips to check my milk, directly from my breast (the instructions say this is OK). I set the timer and after two minutes the test patch is white - a negative result. However, after 5 minutes or more it turns dark. This doesn't happen all the time, like when I've had just a little bit of wine. The strip will stay negative in some cases. The instructions stress to check only after 2 minutes, no later, but I have my…

Pros
  • They are a great tool for lactation consultants to use when advising breastfeeding mothers
Cons
  • Could be perceived as invasive and an unnecessary intrusion into mothers' private lives

Great option for us mom's who like to treat ourselves

I know there seem to be some people who think the accuracy is off, I'm not sure if it's just a bad batch they got "manufacturing error happens" but I have to say I have NO complaints. I feel my strips have been accurate EVERY time. I love that I can easily and quickly test my milk and keep my baby safe. I would definitely recommend.

Pros
  • The Upspring Milkscreen Test Strips are a reliable way to detect alcohol in breast milk
Cons
  • Negative test results could lead to a false sense of security and lead mothers to believe they can drink more than they should

Perfect for breastfeeding moms!

I bought these because I'm breastfeeding and want to enjoy an occasional drink. I have tested these strips when I know that I'm sober, when I know that I'm not sober, and when I wasn't entirely sure if the milk was OK or not. Overall, the product tested well and correctly identified when the milk was not safe to use. It was also very easy to use and clear to read. When you use the strips, take a small amount of milk and pour onto the strip and then put down for 2 minutes. If there is alcohol in

Pros
  • The Upspring Milkscreen Test Strips are a valuable tool for breastfeeding moms who want to ensure the safety and well-being of their babies
Cons
  • May perpetuate the stereotype that mothers who consume alcohol are irresponsible or neglectful

They definitely work!

These are a must have for breastfeeding moms who like to enjoy having drinks from time to time without having to guess if the alcohol is still present in their breastmilk. You MUST follow the instructions accordingly for them to work. I put a timer on my phone to make sure I read the results exactly at 2 minutes. If you wait longer than that, you will see a positive result even if it's negative which has happened to me before with these strips. The picture here is right after 3 margaritas with…

Pros
  • They can help moms who are breastfeeding handle their alcohol consumption responsibly
Cons
  • Could lead to unnecessary restrictions and dietary limitations for breastfeeding mothers

Worth the piece of mind! Worked quickly and effectively

What is better than piece of mind? Nothing.lol, I am a new mom and exclusively breastfeed my daughter. When I first had her I was excited to have a glass of wine again since I had missed it for almost a year already. I was super worried though because I thought even a drop of alcohol could harm my new baby. I searched the internet and.wow.everyone has an opinion about this topic. While I feel it MAY be safe to have ONE drink when breastfeeding and not harm the baby.who really knows. I decided…

Pros
  • The test strips are affordable, making them accessible to a wide range of people
Cons
  • Could contribute to a sense of guilt or shame among mothers who choose to formula-feed

They work well, but empty packets

I like having these on hand after drinking because it’s nice to know if it’s safe or not to breastfeed. I’ve tested multiple times (no drinking, light drinking and heavier drinking) and the test strips indicate how much is in my system still. However, I have now opened two packets that are entirely empty. Kind of annoying given the price. Still giving 4 stars since they work but they need to figure out packaging so there’s not empty packets in the box.

Pros
  • They are a great way to give moms peace of mind while they enjoy a glass of wine or other alcoholic beverages
Cons
  • Could lead to panic and overreaction if mothers receive a false positive test result

These are a few of my favorite things

It doesn't matter how much research you do into how long it takes your body to metabolize alcohol out of your breast milk; you will still feel unsure the first time you go to nurse after you've been drinking. People will suggest "pump and dump" but it's actually a falsehood. Your body metabolizes alcohol out of breast milk the same way it metabolizes it out of your bloodstream, so you needn't pour the precious breast milk down the drain. The only reason you would need to "pump and dump" after…

Pros
  • The Milkscreen Test Strips are a great way to help moms who are unsure of their alcohol intake determine if it is safe to breastfeed their baby
Cons
  • Could cause unnecessary waste of breast milk if mothers rely on the test rather than their own judgment

Definitely Work: my feedback

So at first I thought a got a defective box. I had drank a few times, not many, each time spacing 3 drinks over a few hours with water. The strips always came up negative even when I had a tiny buzz. Yesterday however, I went to a beer, wine, and tequila festival. I’m 7 months post birth and I decided to have a good time. Well, in the course of 3 hours I had 4 margaritas 1/2 solo cup size, a 4oz beer, and a lot of tacos. Not the most responsible decision but the in-laws had the kids and I…

Pros
  • Alcohol in breast milk can affect a baby’s sleep, feeding patterns, and development. The Upspring Milkscreen Test Strips can help prevent these issues
Cons
  • Could lead to misunderstanding and misinterpretation of test results if mothers are not properly educated about the limitations of the product
