Disappointed Best in Power Tool Parts & Accessories

After reading many positive reviews and especially having owned many Dewalt products, I admit that I had high hopes for this product. When I first use this item, the silver "ring" or crown has come loose and is not intact. Also, the tool now "extracts" every bit as advertised. Unfortunately, I only assembled a storage shed purchased from Sears using this tool. I am trying to return the item for a replacement.

  • Satisfied so far

By far the best holder.

Very easy to use. Hold most punches until you let go. It's quite a thick head mount, so hard-to-reach places are going to cause problems. The bit hole is too big and the small screws won't hold the magnet. When screwing without pre-drilling, the trigger mechanism can sometimes be triggered if you hold the holder and accidentally press it. I have used many bit holders, there is no perfect one, but this one is high on my list.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some bugs

Not impressed with current design nor "liking " for DEWALT branded bits.

Not impressed by current design nor by his 'liking' for proprietary DEWALT bits. The magnet is strong enough, but the magnetic ring unscrews quite easily and falls off on contact with the material. when screwing and sometimes when the impact drill bit vibrates. Holds firmly to Dewalt Maxfit bits but not as tight/secure as other major brands, same quality as Dewalt.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Update available

Not the best of Dewalt power and hand tools

I really wanted an older model of their magnetic quick coupler. This is the one I ordered in a line of fast beats maybe a year ago. Just thought I would try to get another one as the set I ordered is no longer available. I was just about to order for my son. So when I couldn't find a kit or changer anywhere I thought maybe they released an improved version. This is the second one I've bought. None is even remotely as good as my older one. I hope this lasts forever.

Great magnet - slightly oversized diameter

I like the strong magnet on this Dewalt bit holder - it's the best I've found for holding and setting wood screws. It's held securely by the screw and I've had no problems with the screws falling out of the magnet. The strength/build quality itself seems good - much better than other Dewalt bit holders I've owned as well. What I don't like is that the diameter is so big that it gets in the way and forces me to hold the screw and screwdriver at an angle when inserting the screw next to something

  • A little maintenance

Collect a few, you'll be giving them out to friends and family!

love this thing! It's simple, reliable, and incredibly useful. Considering how cheap they are for their usefulness, I bought several of these and scattered them around the house and next to all my drills. They greatly simplify projects that require different attachments/tips. To get even more out of them, I recommend trying a few quick-change drill bits: A set of 13 titanium quick-change hex twist drill bits. Most useful DeWalt products: DEWALT DW2735P Flip Drive Set, 12 pcs. There are many…

Holds screws for hands-free use

This bit holder has some nice features that make it exceptional. The first and most important thing is that it is a mounting bit holder. The bit doesn't fall out unless you pull back on the latch, which is a nice feature as I'm so fed up with magnetic holders that the bit gets stuck in the screw and falls out of the holder. Another feature is that there is a magnet on the front of the collar that will hold your prop to keep it from falling off. The collar slides back and forth so it adjusts to…

Extremely useful tool that really works for one handed driving

This is a well made and extremely useful one handed driving tool and yes it holds bits very well thanks! Maybe people are confused about how to attach the bit because the bits go deeper than most bit holders to allow the magnetic collar to touch the screw head. I've worked with tools my whole life, both professionally and beyond, and this ingenious gadget is the only one-handed screwdriver I've ever found that's actually worth playing around with. It features a sliding magnet system that holds…

Magnetic bit holder with minor defects.

I have ordered both types of Dewalt magnetic screwdriver holders and while I prefer this one it still has a significant problem. To clarify, if you did not use a magnet before using the nozzle holder, the procedure is simple. (a) Insert the holder into the drill or impact driver; (b) insert the nozzle into the holder; (c) Screw screw into nozzle; and finally (d) screw the screw (into anything) in the same way as with the non-magnetic filament holder. Okay so the magnetic properties of this…
