Screw in the screws by hand and drill with a 1/8 bit

Before installing, read a number of reviews on these numbers. They are a little complicated but so affordable and they look very pretty. The first thing I did was HAND screw the screws into the back of the numbers. I screwed them all the way in. I didn't want to over tighten and break the screw. Then I placed the numbers on the number templates and marked the new holes. They don't fit together perfectly because the screws aren't straight. Are they paper mache? GARBAGE. 6 out of 15 screws broke in half. The original is not aligned correctly.

They're as good as Target's floating shelves, which means they're undesigned, clearly never tested in the field, and have the tensile strength of a graham cracker. a "trial fit" that resulted in several screws IN HOLES loosening on the side of my house. Only 9 of the 15 self-tapping screws survived installation, see photo. Also, the pattern to be aligned is misaligned. When I aligned the patterns, the "2" was significantly smaller than the other 4 numbers, which seems to defeat the purpose of…

New improved version definitely improved

I've read many reviews on these over the years and everyone agreed they were cheap, the mounting screws were crooked and the instructions were poor. This review was written on 11/2020 and I can assure people that these issues are no longer an issue. I have ordered 4 rooms. Each one was well made, the mounting screws screwed in easily (by hand, of course), and installation was fairly easy. Follow the installation instructions.
