Cheap alternative to OEM

This Dorman C660016 parking brake cable was perfect to replace my OEM on my 2005 GMC, that's where the positives end. This cable was a cheap replacement. Start at the end of the wheel and move forward.1. The spring was larger than the OEM and pushes against the brake lever dust boot, I can only assume it will eventually break the boot. just enough for the spring to catch on it, making installation difficult, and the metal will rust here in the rust belt.3.
