When I received this item I was very disappointed to see on the packaging that it would not work with the Dremel Multimax mm40. If you think this will be a handy item and plan to use it on your Dremel Multimax mm40 then like me you will realize you have wasted your money. Nowhere in the Amazon product description does it say it won't work with the Dremel Multimax mm40.

Does not fit my MultiMax 50

It is not clear on this website or Dremel which blades fit different tools. It would be nice if they cleared up the confusion. I recently purchased a Dremel Multi-Max 50 (MM50) oscillating tool and assumed Dremel brand blades labeled Multi-Max would work. NOT CORRECT! These are old blades and will no longer fit the new Dremel Multi-Max, even though the tag says Multi-Max. Why not post it in the description and save us the cost and hassle?

poor design - power tools and hand tools

Bought when I bought my Dremel Ultra Max. I haven't had a chance to use the product and it stayed in the packaging until 3 weeks ago. Almost wasted money. Despite careful attention to the instructions, the blades fail at the first contact with the material. Often they appear when the device is turned on. So far this is the only accessory that hasn't worked. The triangular sanding pad wears easily in the corners, but I've found that Rockwell makes a pad that fits the machine and is better built.

  • cool product
Cons
  • big and bulky

Copes with anything you want to carve quickly

I bought this for my Dremel 5000 it's amazing. We've had a tough time cutting the palette for some of the art projects I work on, so I did some research and found this mini hacksaw. Like a hot knife through butter, it's a good thing the extra blades are included, they bend pretty easily. Love it, so glad I bought it, it allows you to cut quickly and you can even sculpt a bit (we made a shuttle for my loom). It was so close to the original that I don't even notice it while weaving!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No power

Might be a GREAT tool, but it's not!

Indeed, this tool would make a great addition to a carpenter's or serious hobbyist's toolbox, but it isn't enough. It's a great idea and would be a great tool, but the quality is terrible. The metal frame that holds the blades is too light and holds very little tension on the blade. So once you start pushing the blade to cut through something, the blade usually pops out. If you try to push just behind the hole in the blade to keep it from coming out, the blade will bend and not cut straightโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Expensive

Almost a great idea but there is a design flaw as the blades are held in place by the tension of the fork spring. Necessarily the tension is very high and I need a wrench to loosen and install the blades. There is no way to adjust the tension like on a traditional copy saw. It would be better to have a stronger fork without a spring and some method of tensioning the blade with a bolt, as spring tension decreases over time and different blades require different tensions. In general, while theโ€ฆ
