Despite the "Drill America" name, I suspect they are made in China and Drill America is a reseller and sets quality control standards. However, these are quality drills. I checked the measurements with calipers and they are correct. Even the smallest sizes have a parting point, which many sets don't have. Each bit is well ground and they are all very sharp. The body is strong. I don't have much experience drilling hard materials, but I'm very satisfied so far.

I love these drills. They're arranged in a spiral in a small canister so they're easy to find and just as easy to put back in the marked slot when you're done. I've used them for drilling in hardwood and metal. They are sharp and leave virtually no burrs. I recommend them to carpenters and handymen who need to have a few drill bits on hand. Makes a good, frequently used gift. I have a canister on my workbench with some other commonly used accessories.

Better than ANY other metal drill bit, I bought this to drill stainless steel hardware. Even before I tried stainless steel, I had to drill a few small holes in aluminum. Completely broke the racquet at low speed. Good luck for stainless steel, these bits hardly scratch the material. Unbranded high speed random beats at 10x the price. Bought these based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews but I'm just as disappointed in them as I am with the cheap stuff. on arrival the lid of the tote bag was broken which was ok as i never had to "take it with me" but annoying nonetheless. I already have a complete (115 piece) set of Chicago-Latrobe 550 aka Cobalt, 135 degrees, split point, straw ready bits. I bought Drill America bits as an inexpensive addition for a job where I need the added hardness, heat resistance and sharpenability (more on that below) of cobalt, but I don't want to risk breaking my good bits.
