I have the meter, how do I program it now?

Well I was in question mode, got the counter, how do I program it now. Answer: After surfing the web and reading all sorts of reviews, I found out that Revain Support has PDFs for the units they sell and was able to contact them via support SMS and ask for the file I needed. It wasn't hard to get one after finding my roadblocks on my computer, just downloading them and printing them out for future reference. Hope this helps someone else.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Quality

Programming is difficult

I use this to monitor my battery voltage in a small solar array. The LCD display shows the accumulated discharge when discharging and the accumulated charge when charging. I can't find a way to manually toggle between these values. Programming is not intuitive and there are options in the menu that are not explained in the manual. When setting the battery trip voltage value it doesn't save the values, when I go back to the menu item it still shows zero. An updated manual with more detailed…

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Discontinued

. It should show a negative current because the battery has been charged by the charger and not discharged. For other charge levels (volumetric and absorption), the meter displayed the correct negative current readings. Even when the battery was drained by the load, the meter displayed the correct positive current readings. When charging** the meter indicated the correct charging direction (negative value) of the exact current of 200mA. I have changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars.

Pros
  • . Very good value.
Cons
  • . Not sure.

Best amp/volt/capacitance meter for the price? Nearly.

So far this seems like a great counter. *except* calibration over time. From time to time it needs to be reset (when there is flow through the 0A sensor). A few tips: 1) To calibrate the current to zero (no load), press and hold the bottom button for a few seconds. 2) To extend the wiring, you need 4 wires instead of 5 - the middle wire in the sensor harness is grounded. 3) Make sure to install the hall sensor with the arrow pointing towards the end of the load. Doesn't "remember" any settings…

Good, inexpensive devices - tester

The device keeps what it promises. This is NOT a $100 gauge, so don't expect extreme accuracy. Volts and amps track what's being measured with a $500 Fluke meter. Since the current sensor is a hall effect sensor, you will get incorrect readings if the sensor is close to other live wires. This always applies to the Hall sensor. I'm seeing less than 0.1 amps with other wires carrying 10 amps. Because the sensor is bi-directional, you can see when power is added and when power is reduced for…

Extremely inaccurate readings

I bought one of these gauges and was disappointed. As you can see in the picture I connected it to a 13.8 volt power supply capable of delivering 12 amps. However, the meter indicates that the ham radio's current draw of 10 amps (max) exceeds 100 amps! Revain was kind enough to send me another one, but it has the same results. Manufacturer support is a joke! After seeing the photos and videos I sent them, they wanted me to measure the current with another ammeter I had. Logically, a 12 amp…

Multitester Specifications

I use it for automotive applications. Here's what I observed when testing the unit in a lab prior to installation - indoors at room temperature: Current draw, backlight off: 6.1mA @ 14.0V Current draw, backlight on: 17.9mA @ 14.0V Meter accuracy, voltage: +/- 0.1V , 0-15V Meter Accuracy Current: Cannot be reset, meter always shows -0.1A. Meter shows up to 10% lower for positive (discharge) current, 10% higher for negative (charging) current in the range of +/- 5A - the limit of my desktop power

IMPORTANT things to know to save you time

I bought this for my caravan so I can monitor battery usage and charging. An installation tip you might consider is to use a CAT5 or CAT6 cable between the monitor, hall sensor, power and ground. Yes, you can easily supply 12V over these flimsy wires. I used about 15 feet of cable along with these connectors which made it even easier: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PR1LFVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. After installing this meter I could not find any instructions on how

Inaccuracy and display issues

I purchased this item to monitor my solar lithium battery in my RV. This gauge is inexpensive, easy to install and seems to work. The first light I had had display issues after about 6 months. Some segments of the LCD remained on and the information on the display could not be read. Drok sent a replacement straight away and the replacement works fine for another 6 months after that. I found that this instrument is not accurate. I suspect the reason is that it uses a hall sensor to measure the…
