Bought hoping for better use. Bought this for an outdoor aquaponic system and because of the noise put it in a large box to deaden the noise. The problem is that the pump gets very hot. It's been 5 months now and the pump is already overheating and burning out. It may be better to spend the extra money and buy a better pump.

This pump has a terrible plastic/chemical smell! I don't use it as I don't think it's safe for anything in my aquariums. I've been using it for days, weeks, hoping the smell will "burn out" but it doesn't get better. The supplied elbow is also not strong enough for the performance of this pump and broke. This can be very dangerous if small parts fly off.

We bought this to run filters and air vents in 3 minnow tanks. We only use 6 valves. It was a bit noisy at first but after running 24/7 for the last 3 weeks it really got quieter. The only problem we had was the valves themselves heating up. This has caused airlines to expand and contract. But a coupler that connects each air line to a valve solved that problem. Would definitely buy again.

This device has been connected since purchase and has been working for 14 months. It gets hot, and after we run the hose through a bucket of water and then attach the manifold, the manifold stays cool and doesn't soften the hoses where they fall off. Not a big deal as this is likely to be a problem with any pump, but having literally never unplugged it once in its life I would buy it again!

Upgrade from a smaller model that was loud and hot enough to cook on. This one was the same. I FIXED A LITTLE BIT. I used Teflon spade spray. Spray into the air intake. The noise immediately dropped to a low level. The noise is almost gone. No harmful effects on fish or oil on water are observed. Totally disappointed with ecoplus 3566 GPH. I have used Eco Plus pumps in the past and have been very satisfied. I decided to team up and run one pump instead of two or three. The pump pumps a lot of air, but gets very hot. so strong that the hose connecting the pump to the manifold melted. I got this to replace the 1750 and 960 in my pond. Surprisingly, the 960 was the loudest, the 1750 came second, and this pump was the quietest. These Eco pump diaphragms are thin, so I have a habit of replacing them with EPDM, which is a bit thicker, as soon as they arrive, and I change the diaphragm on schedule. I have received trade item 3566 GPH. It works with 32 small sponge filters with a large air supply (see video). You could probably run 50 small sponge filters with one pump. I attached it to the basement rafters just below the tanks with a piece of plywood and ran an air hose through the floor. You don't have to watch it and it's reassuring. Very powerful product, works very very well. There are two problems: First, it works so hard that the metal air hose manifold with all the rubber hoses attached gets so hot it burns your hand. Not the block itself, but a sliver of metal that attaches to the hose. The second problem is that the hose has to be attached to the block and to the metal manifold/splitter, otherwise the jet of air will become so strong that it will just come off the end of the splitter.
