My favorite Esee model of all

This is my fifth Esee knife and I'm sure it won't be the last. Very cool color combination. These guys know how to make strong knives. Don't waste your money on more expensive brands. Esee is what you want!

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Excellent knife. Terrible shell.

Excellent knife. I dare say the best I've ever had. The handle feels great and the blade is perfect. On the other hand, the sheath doesn't hold the knife tight enough and the metal clip is completely useless.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Defects present

Excellent knife. Will be my edc

I'm glad I bought it. perfect size The grips feel better than I expected. I only wish they had sent them with Kydex instead of a molded plastic sheath. In this case, too, the shell works. I wore an Izulu but found it too small for a few things. Thicker handles are much better for pushing through cuts.

Great knife but 3D handles are questionable

I have several ESEE knives and I think they are excellent quality, good steel, hold an edge well, pretty much everything you would want in a utility knife can hope for. My particular issue with the version I have here is these new 3D pens. They appear to be holding a slippery, hard piece of plastic. I have micarta handles on my other knives and am considering buying micarta handles for this ESEE 4 and throwing away those 3D pens. These grips seem slippery to me, leave a lot to be desired.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • No instructions

Top quality. on the hunt

The moment I picked this thing up I realized it was worth every penny. Even before unpacking I was impressed by the quality. The sheath works EXTREMELY well and definitely keeps the knife inside. It won't come out if you don't want it. The clip attached to the bag has a very good clip function, compatible with a belt or molle loop. The blade itself is VERY sharp. be careful lol. I would say this is the perfect solution for anyone who needs a durable fixed blade blade for everyday use that…

Great knife, just not the same.

Handle feels small or wrong. Maybe it's just my big mistakes. I love my ESSE 5 and have used it in the field many times. Wanted 4 because of the smaller and lighter size but not for me. I just can't seem to get a firm grip on it. My Kershaw Shuffle, as seen in the photos, fits my hand much better despite its size. In my hand, ESSE 5 feels solid, but ESSE 4 feels like it's slipping. I've cut myself on it before but it was probably more to me and I haven't used it long enough to do it lol. I…

  • Big and chunky

Garbage knife overpriced.

I wanted to like this knife, watched videos on YouTube and read about it. It's a $30 lightweight cutting knife advertised as a survival or bushcraft knife and then priced at over $100. The handle is too narrow to be used for anything other than a utility knife or light office work. You will not cut enough 3 inch or thicker pieces of wood to build any type of survival shelter. Your fingers will hurt and it will be dark before you're done. I also have Kabar Becker and Jeo-tec No. 21 at the same…

  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Excellent in every way Choice of a quality knife

Let me start by saying I'm not a 'knife guy' but I understand the need for a good blade when hiking, camping or just tossing in the glove box. I don't want a disposable knife or something Chinese from the department store, I want something I can look forward to for years or decades to come. You can see right away that the stock of 1/4 inch blades lets you know this is a functional and handy tool that is unlikely to let you down. It came out of the box sharp enough to shave off my arm hair. It…

Looks, feels and works great.

The look and feel of this knife is amazing. In initial testing, it performs well as a survival knife, meaning it's good at nothing but good enough at almost everything. The only downside is that the handle can be too small. Call me cocky, but I feel weird welding a big spooky knife on a camping trip. It's just too much like driving a Hummer for ice cream. It seems like a reasonably sized knife that doesn't feel like it's compensating for anything. This would be a bit small for chopping wood but

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Some trouble
