Perfect replacement for Anet A8 (3D printer).

I had the Anet A8 for about 6 weeks when the power supply failed for no reason. It printed, I went in for a drink, went back to the garage and the printer was DOA. I ordered this power supply and it was almost cheap, but it's better! It has more power, heats up the extruder and greenhouse less, has a built-in fan for cooling under load and has been running continuously for 9 months. The only downside (which is very minor) is that the mounting holes on the back of the case don't match the…

Satisfied user regarding internal components

I used it for a week to power a 2m ham radio FM transceiver with excellent results. The current drawn by the transceiver is only 2 amps, which is well below the 30 amps of this power supply. I was pleased to find that there was no noticeable RF noise in the faintest received signal from the power supply. I just plugged it in and used it. I didn't open it to look inside. I didn't do any electrical tests to determine load regulation and I didn't check the cleanliness of the output voltage on my…

This power supply is well built but has poor quality control.

This power supply is well built but with poor quality control. After a complete disassembly, the only issue I had with this unit was the lack of thermal paste or gasket from the aluminum heatsink/mounting block to the frame it's attached to with 3 screws per kit. The MOSFET on the mounting block has already applied a lot of paste. Maybe I didn't have to, but I put the Arctic MX-4 on MOSFETs and screwed them together on the back and side. The soldering looks great on the board, no trace of flux.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not sure

Seems like a good cheap power supply if you need a good current up to 20A or so. But it has a noisy fan and I don't think it can really handle 30A except for short periods of time. It was hooked up to an oscilloscope both under load at 24A and no load to see how the startup/shutdown and ripple is. All in all it looks decent, the difference under load and no load is very small which is good and the overall ripple seems to be less than 400mV even when drawing 24A with very little sag. There…

Hello eTopxizu! Visual comparison with the Meanwell power supply.

First off, great name! I confess I probably went with this fake because it sounds like the almighty Aztec warrior god. Well done. I compared this side by side with my original MeanWell NES-350-12 MeanWell NES-350-12 12V, 350W, 110-240V switching power supply. I also ran a test with a 1.2 ohm load (hot plate) to see how this eTopxizu performs. eTopxizu is shown on the left, meinwell on the right. The usual differences can be seen at eTopxizu (the god of amp smoking): off-brand components…
