Overall good product but needs constant monitoring if there are large chunks in the bird seed. Some pieces got stuck on the ground and the birds were left without food for a day. I was wondering why they were so happy to see me but they haven't eaten all day! I got it mainly for a weekend getaway but wouldn't feel comfortable leaving her with it now. No, at least not until I've removed all the large pieces.

I bought this for my finches a few months ago and it works as described. What I like best is the lack of junk. Anyone who owns birds knows how much seed they waste, and this appears to be seriously reducing that number. It's not 100% trouble-free, but it's not when it comes to birds. Remember to empty the bottom tray before it gets full. Once full it will drop hulls everywhere when you pull it out. This was a trial period for me and I am so pleased with this product that I intend to purchase it

It really works. He is not fragile. This makes it easy to fill the cage from the outside and empty it from the outside. The only thing I would change (but only because we have so many birds) is to make the chaff box bigger so it doesn't have to be emptied twice a day, but that's because 12 birds use one feeder, so of course they eat a lot of seeds from it.
