Good for dress shoes and similar types

This extends and collapses as advertised. However when purchasing you should realize that the actual portion of the shoehorn that goes into your shoe is about the same size as a handheld non long handled shoe horn. If you're using this for boots or anything else that's deep and needs more metal/plastic support to make the shoe go on properly it probably won't work.

Pros
  • Takes the hassle out of putting on shoes
Cons
  • May not be sturdy enough for those with heavy shoes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good with some issue

Good material, telescoping arm works fine. However, after inserting your feet in the shoe, the telescoping arm extends all the way before it comes off the shoe. This is very annoying if you are using sitting on a chair, at which time you want the telescoping handle is shorter. It would be best if it would not so easily telescope (unintentional for me) when pulling the shoe horn off the shoe after my foot is already inserted in the shoe. Otherwise, it is best used standing.

Pros
  • Speeds up the shoe-tying process
Cons
  • May require frequent cleaning to prevent odors

Good but not as strong

Rubber handle had to be glued back on.Need to be careful as metal does not feel durable.Overall good for the purpose Expander may not fit easily into some shoe types.

Pros
  • Makes shoes easier to walk in
Cons
  • Expander may not fit easily into some shoe types

I Like very much that it has variable lengths. This is especially true for traveling. The ability to lock into a specific length is a positive feature but does not work. The spring attaching the head to the handle is too weak, it need to be stiffer. so it doesn't bend when putting your shoes on.

Pros
  • Shoe Horns & Boot Jacks
Cons
  • May take up too much storage space in luggage

Good shoe horn - my new review

This helps me put my shoes on. If you have trouble bending over, this shoe horn will be helpful. It's sturdy enough. Helps put shoes on without all the bending. It's a good product. It also extends to be longer if you are standing when putting your shoes on. This is not a cheap shoe horn, good for elderly and young alike.

Pros
  • Can be used by people with back pain
Cons
  • Could be too bulky to take on trips

Nice, but. best in my review

This product is well made and attractive. My only objection is to the spring that connects the horn to the handle. Some may like the flexibility, but I would rather not have it. Other than that, it is great.

Pros
  • Promotes independence for those with disabilities
Cons
  • Could take up too much space in hall closets

Great when extended, not great when using short/collapsed

I love using while extended and works great. If I am sitting though using it collapsed, when I try to pull it out of my shoe, the handle just wants to extend out without coming out of my shoe. Since I use it more extended and that is its main purpose, rating it 4 starts. I'll buy a smaller one that doesn't collapse for use while sitting.

Pros
  • Helped me to put shoes on when I was recovering from surgery.
Cons
  • It bent easy on the first use.

Very Useful! good for me

I really find this quite helpful! I have a couple of herniated disks in my lower spine, so it can be quite painful to put on shoes. This has been a big help! The one thing I noticed, however is that the flexible spring part is a bit "too" flexible. Sometimes it bends the horn at a more extreme angle and it's hard to wiggle your foot into the shoe.

Pros
  • Provides a secure and comfortable fit
Cons
  • May be unsuitable for use with delicate footwear

Good assistant for putting on shoes from most positions.

Forgot about the locking feature and notified vendor as an enhancement. They quickly reminded me it already was there. Now that I have gotten past that I find that this is a great tool for assisting putting on shoes with or without wearing socks. I have seen some comments about the spring but have found it to be very useful as it allows me to align the shoehorn despite the angle I am holding the extension.

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
Cons
  • Expander may be too rigid for those with wide feet

Rubber Handle Slips Off

The metal parts of the shoe horn are pretty robust and conveniently retracts to a shorter length. The rubber handle provides for a good grip; however, after just a few uses slid off the end of the metal shaft. It's easily repaired with adhesive, but the consumer shouldn't need to deal with this.In the end it works quite well after several months of daily usage (and a repair).

Pros
  • Improves shoe fit
Cons
  • May take some practice to get the hang of using it

Pretty good device!

Pretty convenient. Top handle was loose when I got it, but I fixed that with a little superglue. Item was as advertised, but I've realized that I didn't really need to spend the extra money for a collapsing version because it basically sits, expanded, next to my back door. I don't need to transport it anywhere. (This is not a defect in the product. Just in what I'm using it for.)

Pros
  • Needed some help after recent knee replacement this worked great to help with putting on my shoes.
Cons
  • May be too bulky to store in smaller living spaces

Great travel shoehorn

It is a little to flexible and would be a lot better if made wider. I like their telescoping feature a lot. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Reduces shoe wear and tear
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with larger shoe sizes

works better than expected

has a telescoping handle with a spring at the top of the horn,it flexes as your foot slides in your shoes.,you don't need to bend over .Prefect gift for a leg amputee or and elderly person, or someone with back troubles

Pros
  • Shoe, Jewelry & Watch Accessories
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for daily use

Best retracting & locking Shoe Horn for Travellers!

It is a great product and this is the second one I have purchased. The first one did not lock, but it still served it's purpose. This specific model locks, however, there were no instructions on how to retract the shaft when extended and locked. I finally figured it out by accident. Hold both ends, pull or push and then TWIST to unlock. The spring at the bottom offers flexibility allowing use at different angles, works everytime!

Pros
  • Shoe Care & Accessories
Cons
  • Twist-lock mechanism may become loose over time

Is it supposed to bend?

I bought this for my husband. We liked the option of collapsing it for when we travel. However, it doesn't seem stiff enough and causes some problems when my husband gets his shoes on. There's a spring between the blade and the shaft so there must be a reason for it. My husband just got it and said we will try it for a little while longer and see if he can get use to it. It's different than the last one he had that was really rigid and helped him slide his foot in better.

Pros
  • Simple and easy to use
Cons
  • May be cost-prohibitive for some budgets

Sturdy shoehorn. in my review

Like the sturdy metal shoe horn. Although provides flexibility, the spring is a little flimsy while using. Must place shoehorn in shoe and in position before placing your foot into the shoe.

Pros
  • 58042
Cons
  • Expander may not stay extended during use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

well made but not sure about the flexible design.

the hand telescopes and does not seem to lock, so it slips up and down while you are using it. The shoe horn part also is flexibly connected to the handle, so that means there is more give. It is OK, but I think a long handled shoe horn that was one piece would have worked better for my needs.

Pros
  • Suitable for people of all ages
Cons
  • Could be difficult to use with one hand

Handy for Travel in my review

I'm taking water aerobics and can't bend to put shoes on. This shoe horn when in my swimming bag and helped get on swimming shoes and then to put on street shoes. Had a hard time finding one short enough to go in my bag. I take two sections and screw them together when ready to use.

Pros
  • Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Cons
  • Expander may not extend far enough for taller users

Mom loved the extension

Just got it looks like it will be just what we wanted. We will see if it holds up.Came in a huge box and very quick! Sometimes it does not lock to hold the length, but maybe that is us.

Pros
  • Improves quality of life
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use on stairs or uneven terrain

Extending shoehorn: my feedback

The shoehorn is great for traveling as it fits in my small suitcase. The handle comes off if you are not careful when using the shoehorn. A great buy for travel.

Pros
  • Provides easy access to putting on shoes
Cons
  • Could be too heavy for some users to hold
