I think it should be tied in the front, not the back (my opinion).

Okay this could totally be my fault but this anchor got stuck the very first time I used it and I had to leave it. After this happened I did a little more research on these anchors and you actually need to tie them to the front of the anchor and use a zip tie on the back so I don't get stuck. I really had some sort of instruction and what exactly was tied. I totally agree this is my fault but I think they should add some zip ties as well as some instructions.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Fell apart in a week in the marine environment

The anchor fell apart completely after about a week of use today. Broke into 6 pieces when I opened it just before using it on my boat. Useless now and didn't have time to figure out what went wrong. I immediately grabbed my real Danforth anchor and deployed it instead. It should also be noted that the foam float was immediately torn by the rope during installation. You should remake the canvas pad so it doesn't loop around itself, or get a real PVC float. If it hadn't fallen apart I would have

Durable and functional

Strange rating categories for an item: Flexibility is an anchor. This is a rope. no voltage. Light weight - the weight of the anchor is clearly marked. It is neither easy nor difficult; it is as noted. Ease of use - yes. This is an anchor. I've used this anchor on beach trips to tie my large floats (unicorn, flamingo. You've probably seen them on Amazon and other sites.) so they can lie on them and not get swept away by the tide. Works surprisingly well for this purpose. The handy built-in…

Best value for boating

Almost the same as dozens of other Revain picks. The grapnel anchor appears to be of good quality, subtle coloring. It's questionable if it holds up well in salt water, but I don't use it for that. If I were going I'd probably spray it with Rustolium. However, the 25ft anchor (cable/rope) is a bit short. This type of anchor requires at least a 3/1 scope (3 feet of anchors per 1 foot of water) to get engagement, so it's really only really effective in about 7 feet of water. I know someone will…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Great price for a compact anchor

So far I am very happy with this anchor. The ad doesn't show it very well, but there is a collar that rotates to lock the paws up (storage) or down (normal use). The rope is not easy to separate from the anchor, but it is possible if you know how to make similar loops on braided rope. It's not really necessary to separate the rope, but I did so so I could attach the rope to the bottom and then use zip ties to connect the rope to the top. I got this idea from another review and it's really just…

They do not deliver what is described

This is my second anchor bought this way. Firstly I like their design, they work very well on rocky banks and can take a lot of pressure. I just bought a second one for the new PWC. We use them on waveguides, kayaks, floats etc. This time the product was not delivered as described and I wanted to point that out to those who may not have noticed. Although listed with a PVC buoy, it comes with a foam buoy. If you use it anywhere there are waves, it will break that foam buoy in an instant. I…

Good buy for paddling and sailing

That's a lot of weight for my 10ft kayak. I had the 1lb and it didn't lock half the time. i love color The float is not red but more of a washed out orange. Aesthetics only. I wish the rope was a bit longer as the tank I kayak in can get really deep in some places, but I had no problem adding extra paracord to extend it a few times when I needed it. Just make sure it's attached before throwing it away! This boy won't save you if he's too deep. It's nice when the rope is long enough and if I…

The perfect anchor, except e.g.

Very good anchor for the price. Better value than Yak Gear. The anchor is made of galvanized steel and painted red to make it easier to find if you lose it. The handles can be locked in the open or closed position. The supplied bag is made of durable nylon and is also softly lined. The only thing I would recommend is to include at least 50 feet of cord as 25 feet isn't enough. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. The line provided (though too short) is quite solid and the marker buoy and steel
