I have ordered two. One was dead on arrival.

I have both installed on my truck. One works great and the other has died since installation. It's a little frustrating. Due to the coronavirus restricting my budget I wasn't able to install until recently and my refund period had already passed so I'm sticking with it. The instructions are very clear, a working controller does the job perfectly. But when I get a faulty device, I have a 50% success rate.

  • Great for outdoor activities

Properly working engine cooling and air conditioning fan

I have had other sensors through the radiator fins that were not as reliable and accurate. They were also weak as their connections broke easily. This item works great as I installed it myself. It gets its operational values straight from the water when it returns to the radiator after exiting a hot engine. The cables on the sensor are a little thin. I glued the sensor with hot glue and placed it on shrink wrap. So far, so good. What could make more sense? whale

Good until it is

The best electronic fan controller I could find, but not great. Worked fine until it didn't work. truck overheats in traffic; from time to time the controller will make a howl (probably a bloated capacitor). Flex-a-lite offers a replacement device, hence 3 stars. Other thoughts: I agree, it's been toggled on and off too many times (at least mentioned in another comment). I want it to stay a little longer, maybe by controlling/lowering the fan speed. The controller (and fans) would wear out a…

Excellent device for the price and options

So, for the price and options, this controller is five stars. Easy to install, has all the necessary connections and is easy to use. Soft start and variable speed are aftermarket clutches. I have a Windstar Dual Fan in a '93 zip. I have no issues with power or overheating with this controller. Great article. By the way, what bothers me is the 30-second runtime after shutdown and you can't turn it off. Efans draws a lot of current in 30 seconds. You can manually override it with a switch, but…

Simple and effective

Works great, very easy and straightforward to install. Didn't bother with manual on/off, just turned on the AC. Came with multiple fittings to install the temperature sensor without having to buy anything extra. I was hoping for dual output so each fan could start at different temperatures or just turn on once with the air conditioner. But since they're only running at 60%, I'm guessing that both come at the same time isn't that bad. The only thing I would wish for was a better way to set the…

Works as advertised - Type

I installed this on a 2003 Ford Ranger to replace the mechanical cooling fan. Installation is detailed, but if you have DIY wiring skills you should be fine. The fan "growls" at startup, which some fans complain about. I use a fan. I gave it 4 stars because the speedometer needle jumps momentarily when the fan starts. Not sure yet if this is controller related - we're still checking. The connections must be made directly to the battery. There are some assumptions during the installation as the…
