🔥 Flirc Raspberry Pi 3B Case: Optimal Protection and Cooling Solution Review

I loved the Flirc Gen 1 case (made for rpi2) and should have gotten this update when I saw it! I love the new finished product! The outside of the case is well made and nice but the screws that come with the case don't screw all the way in and the bottom of the case is left loose which is very disappointing. I've tried all the single screws included in both the 3B plus pack and the 2/3 pack and none of them work. I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+.

Buy something else. The screws don't go all the way in. Either the wrong mounting screws were included or the threads on the case don't match, but the screws hardly go in. In order for them to go deep enough to hold the board and floor in place, I had to put a lot of effort into EACH screw. Enough force to loosen the screws. The "thermal" pad looks suspicious as it looks like a piece of rubber or butyl and probably won't provide a good thermal bond, but I haven't had a chance to test this…

This is a very nice aluminum case with a plastic back and 4 screws. The base has plenty of holes for heat transfer and two slots, one for accessing the memory card and the other on the side for the GPIO cable or wires. The reason it deserves two stars is that it has a flaw in the design of the mounting racks inside. You could mount the Pi board perfectly, but you couldn't with a 40-pin ribbon cable.
