Flood FLD6 Floetrol Latex Paint Additive - 1 Gallon, Pack of 1 Review

I use this product almost every day for acrylic painting. I'm trying to buy it from a home store as it's a lot cheaper. I don't drive so getting there can be a problem. So I thought I'd order it from Amazon. Big mistake. It's full of all sorts of weird lumps. I have to pour it through a sieve that catches about 2/3 of the clumps. I would easily say that 1/3 gallon was useless. I will no longer be buying Floetrol from Revain. At least not in liter jars. Quarter pitchers seem fine.

I use Floetrol in my acrylic paints for all kinds of work but especially for acrylic fills. I've tried several other products, including glue, but none of them can match the smoothness and effects you get with Floetrol. Good product! Here's a handy tip: if you find the product comes out a bit sticky, use a cheesecloth or strainer, that will help a lot. The glop has nothing to do with the age of the product, only with the type of product.

product does exactly what it says on the tin. I use it all the time for my ART. However, the packaging was not very professional. I am ordering this product as a mixing medium for acrylic paint. I've usually been happy with the product, but this last bottle was full of solidified product. I had to strain it to remove strands of product before I could add it (which I always do because there's always some stuff in it). However, it was so bad that it didn't even go through the sieve because of the many clumps of fibers. I had to clean out the strainer after every 6 ounces of product before realizing I needed to strain more…

We use Floetrol for acrylic inkjet. We mix about 50% Floetrol, 45% Artist's Loft Acrylic Fill Paint and 5% water or alcohol. (We use less paint in the formula when using tubes of acrylic paint rather than large bottles of paint already diluted). The individual colors obtained remain well separated when mixed and poured, retain good color intensity after drying and remain stable. I didn't dare try it but I'm glad I did. I used this with Behr Premium Latex to paint our dated double sink oak vanity. I used a 4:1 ratio.
