The product is LB 3/32 6013 Weld Rod. Easy to use. All position welding, general purpose rod for shallow penetration or in poor fit up conditions. Excellent wetting action, yielding smooth and flat beads with steady arc with either AC or DC. Low spatter and excellent slag removal, virtually self cleaning in vertical down fillets. use with low current! great poles!

These 1/16 welding rods are great for very low current applications! but they work great! Go ahead and buy 2 or 3 because you won't be disappointed

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • something different

Found the right size at Revain.

This wand is designed for a portable 110V universal welder. The thickness of the core is required by my welding machine. Forney is a quality company. A bit pricey but this company is well known for that.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Only available in black

Easy ignition good stable combustion

I have used them for 3/32 to 1/8 pipe and square pipe up to 1/8 inch angle iron in DCEP mode at about 50A with good performance. I declined 35A to attach the casters to the metal base. (Why screw them on!). The rollers are 1/16" mounting plates and concentrate most of the heat on the 1/2" thick steel base. through the mounting plate. I've always loved Forney rods!

But it burns well.

I will weld steel .065 thin, but there is no other way. I like the bead but I would prefer the 7024 if I could find one in 1/16th. The purchase lost a star because the rod box was open. I weighed it at 1.2 pounds so everything is there, but I was concerned about the condition of the coating when exposed to moisture. It's a little pricey at $10/lb considering Blue Demon is $20/5lb, but I wanted to try it before buying that amount.

Fantastic rod, the best rod

This is a fantastic rod - the best I've ever used! It's also everything the ad says. Starts easily (no sticking) and flows great! The people who rate this product badly obviously don't know much about welding. (Using AC or DC, using the correct amperage, hitting the pole, removing slag, using the right pole for the job, etc.). When used correctly, these Forney rods are some of the best money can buy. They really make your job easy and beautiful.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Some little things

20 years of welding experience and I'd say good - doesn't stand out

These were used to install a stand that had a 1/4" and 1/8 to 1/4" U-channel 4 "Welding of steel sheets. I have been using Firepower 6013 rods and switched to them as soon as they ran out. The Forney weld is fine, but doesn't strike the arc as easily and doesn't have the same penetrating bead. Wanted to try these because of the decent reviews but they seem pretty much the same as your average rod. They were brand new, out of the box and shipped the same day I used them. I'm not saying they're…

  • Satisfied so far

Manufacturers switch to Wand 3/32 specifically DCEP

Probably the most useful electrodes I've ever bought. I often weld thin mild steel tubing that is usually lightly rusted or covered with mill scale. He takes it easy on himself, which is a big advantage when it comes to preparation. Thin mild steel tubing is structurally strong, cheap, but one of the most difficult materials to weld. With a tube wall thickness of .060, it is almost impossible not to blow through the billet. I have found these rods to be the most forgiving in this aspect while…

Thin, precise, low force welding wire

I learned about welding many years ago. I didn't even know steel welding rods were different - just big and small. I recently needed to attach a bracket to my lawn mower so I bought an inexpensive adjustable welder. I bought cranks 6011, 6013 and 7024. Played around with different bars and amps and came to some conclusions: 6011 left almost no slag, but it was very difficult to hit thin metal at low current, 6013 left TONS of slag, VERY easy to hit but needed the right balance. Glue and burn…

Pros
  • Used for all types of mild steel production
Cons
  • High price

Good for exhaust welding

Thought they kind of sucked. I can solder like a beast and Mig is a decent bead but never stick welded. After the first sheet there were problems with gluing. score with a cheap but proven 160A welding machine. In the following way. , touch, good arc, welding moment, click, flush repeat. It was a welder. (ME) After minor adjustments beyond the recommended amperage they weld very well. If you're having this problem, try increasing the amps by 30-50% and see if that helps, then tweak the amps…
