Ordered from Car Alarm

Excellent service from Car Alarm. They responded quickly, programmed the module and it arrived ready to use. I installed it this afternoon and it works as expected. One note, during installation he only had instructions on how to connect wires. I installed on Ram 08 automatically. There was no mention of plugging in the black plug, holding the button, then plugging in the remaining plugs, then turning the key to start, then turning the key to turn off, then hitting the lock. I searched a bit…

and it works great. I had to connect 2 sets.

I installed this on my 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport and it works great. I had to connect the 2 sets of wires (yellow and purple/purple) together in the kit but with the instructions it was easy. Take your time and it really isn't difficult at all. I didn't need a Flash Link to work with the factory 3-lock key fob to get started, but I bought one so I could program the RF kit with the extended range of 2-way remotes. I settled on the following parts: - Fortin RF642W (remotes and RF kit are single…

  • Easy to read control panel

DISCOUNT on Remote Start Jeep Jk!

Be sure to buy it at a car alarm store. You will pre-program it for your car and you don't need to buy any flash tool. I decided to follow the installation instructions for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler on YouTube and it was mostly helpful. However, as many reviews say. You MUST connect the solid yellow wire on the large (white) 20-pin connector on one side of the Evo to the solid yellow wire in the T-harness on the other side. That's easy. Believe me. I'm terrible with wiring and I did it in a few…

Installed on a 2012 Jeep Liberty

This unit comes pre-wired for select year Chrysler Jeep and Dodge vehicles and works right out of the box. Installed on a 2012 Jeep Liberty. The instructions say you need to connect 2 wires for my car: Yellow to Yellow and Green/Red to Purple. The combination of green/red and purple caused my first attempt to install to fail. never mind Disconnect everything from the module and press the reset button. The instructions state that the green/red and purple pairing is not needed for the Jeep…

Great product for a lot less than the Jeep factory remote start option!

Definitely order from Car Alarm Depot as you will need to program this unit as a stand alone remote triggering device with Flash Link Updater (which you would otherwise have to buy but never mention any other seller than Car Alarm) . The reason I say this is because Car Alarm Depot will pre-program the device with the Flash Link Updater for your vehicle. Other providers here didn't share this little tidbit of information with their customers, which resulted in them paying another $60 for the…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Easy installation with V-belt. Works with existing OEM door/key fobs. Particularities. Additional $40 for one-time use. I'm considering selling it on ebay. Fortin will not provide you with technical support if you are not a professional installer. I had to pretend I had a garage. Too bad because the installation was very easy after I programmed it with the firmware update tool. Fortin cable installation information was weak and confusing. I wish the parking light function would work, but the…

I think, as some others have learned from feedback, that's it.

The remote starter was delivered very quickly. It came with no instructions so you'll need to go to Youtube or the Fortin website for more information. I installed it very quickly on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler but in the very last step when you need to program the buttons it didn't flash or read the buttons to complete the programming. So I followed the troubleshooting guide from the Fortin website, but when I unplugged and plugged everything back in, the very fragile male electrical contacts became

Be careful who you buy it from.

Be careful who you buy from as all sellers are different. Usually these remote launches are very easy to install with little or no experience required. They usually come pre-wired to fit your vehicle and all the wiring is connected before your item ships so it is ready to go. I bought this one from E&B Electronics and it arrived lightning fast. I had everything hooked up in minutes but nothing programmed. When I called mfg tech support I found that I needed to hook up a few wires in the…

Not quite plug and play, has wiring

I bought this because I clearly needed a remote start for my 2008 Dodge Avenger. I was looking for a $200 minimum if I bought it from one of my local car stereo/security stores, so $75 looked really good. After watching a lot of youtube videos and reading online manuals I connected the tee to the immobilizer which is a real pain in the neck for the Avenger. With all these cables I was skeptical that it was just plug and play by simply plugging in a T-harness and I was right. All the videos I've
